A recent "what's wrong with your Z" thread got me thinking....

.....as the only thing that doesn't work on mine is the headlamp wash system. There's no noise from the motor at all when pressing the button (yes; before you ask, I did try with the lights on.......).

So I was thinking fuse or/and relay; any thoughts/ideas please? And where would I find the fuse/relay for it as I don't think it's in the main fuse box under the bonnet?

Thanks,

I would of thought its probably the motor. They don't get much use and will seize over time.

It's a shame i didnt keep the one from my 99spec when I stripped it out as you could of had it.

It's a pain to get to (maybe if you take the drivers wheel lining off?), you could put a multimeter on the pump to check for voltage when the buttons pressed.

Mine didn't work when I bought my car. Zedworld said they'd sort them as a bit of a favour while they were doing some other stuff to the car, but I think they regretted saying it as apparently it was a right faff of a job to get to! In my case it turned out to be the motor that was the problem.

Do your wipers go when you press the button? As mine did but just nothing from the washers.

I don't think I've actually ever used them genuinely since getting them working, I just hate the thought of things not working that should!

mine work perfectly but i really dont see the point, if the car is polished nicely all they seem to do is squirt water onto the bonnet, if the headlights had little wipers i would understand

I had headlight washers on my alfa, and you could really see the difference on a dark road at night, they were brilliant. Never had the pleasure of seeing them working on a Z though, and I'm on my 2nd UK model. :(

I know - it's just that I have OCD and that's the only thing on my Z that doesn't work......

The only Z I have ever seen them working on was The Sultan of Brunai's; now owned by PhilP....:thumbup1:

No worries Phil... I didn't think it might be the motor - if so, I'll continue without them. it's not like I use the car often enough in bad weather to worry about it.....

Actually no, they don't! I do remember this happened on my red ZX though.....

.....so perhaps I'll look at the relay and fuses after all...!!

Thanks everyone!!
