Hi,

Just called lynbrooks and got a very fit sounding lady on the end of the phone but apparently they don't deal with the insurance direct and I have to go with a broker but she couldn't provide me with one!! So how the did you go about getting a quote from them?

Just rang Carole Nash and they won't touch me as I'm under 30. Renewal from admiral is £780.00 but I'm sure I can do better with classic car insurance?

Thanks,

Tom

I am with Lynbrook and i just called them up and they gave me a quote?

Perhaps they have a new system:blink:

Could also try Bell. They're owned by Admiral, and a few people I know have found cheaper quotes with them than their parent company.

Must of just been the dosey bird on the end of the phone, ill try again!

I'm with Lynbrook and I got insured with them in July by calling them directly - maybe your fit lass on the phone was a bit dim lol

I've been with Lynbrooks for about 3 years now and I've always dealt direct too.

Lynbrooks are brokers; it's the actual insurance companies (EG redstar or Chaucers) whom you won't be able to contact directly for a quote......

......Are you certain you haven't rung the insurer's line directly?

The first time I rang, specialist risks (01277) answered. The other number (0845) held on for 5 mins twice no answer. Then waited mins got an answer and she said there was no one there authorised to give insurance quotes atm grrr.....

After emailing them and leaving a message for a call back I still hadn't heard anything. So I tried again one last time today... eventually got through and the chap asked me how I had heard of Lynbrooks. I said through the 300zx owners club, his 2nd question was, make and model please... I said 300zx!!!!!!!! as I had found out through the club. So all experiences so far had not filled me with confidence but they wouldn't insure me as according to them you have to be 25 to drive at manual TT (erm... anyone with a license can drive one). So sticking with good ole admiral multicar!

I guess that's just their terms Tom - maybe that's how they keep their premuims down; ie by not covering higher risks?

I would agree and Carole Nash is 30. Its a shame that all younger drivers get tarred with the same brush!
