Looking at one tonight with one of my staff who wants to buy one Its a DC2 anything in particular to check.

They often have had a hard hard life. People tend to mod them badly as well, look for dodgy vtec controllers and badly fitted turbo kits! The ones I have seen have worn bolsters, I think its the seat shape and quality thats at fault. Like all fast hondas they burn oil like america!

 

Not sure if they are timing chain or belt, if on a chain (like civic tye R's) then they tend to get stretched when people are enthusiastic with the downshift (partly the cars fault as it needs to be doing 14 billion rpm to move!) If on a belt (most likely if memory serves) make sure its been changed as per servicing as they are often under alot of stress.

went with my friend last night and bought the car it was up for 5K but managed to get it for 4.250. Its a spanking car absolutely rust free. He is really pleased with it.

ahh your the chap who had the issues with the blown headgasket on the new build engine? if you dont want to post things on the internet feel free to email me persoanlly as id really like to know what your experince was positive or negative so i can decide wether to stop using them or not

we are currently contemplating putting a teg engine into our del sol not sure though they still go for god money for a decent one
