Has been done, but its much cheaper just to buy a TT.

Ok. i thought it wouldnt cost too much to do as i've sourced an engine cheap and the labour is £300

As Dave says its cheaper to buy a TT, It`s not just an engine swap, but intercoolers, pipes, wires, ect, messy but very do-able

An expert will be along soon to tell you what you need. But from what I've read, it's not easy or cheap I'm afraid.

I thought £800 quid was reasonable with all the anciliaries too. Plus my shell is so good would seem like an idealisitic thing to do.

Yeah the engine would cost 300 and the labour 500 but would try and blag them down plus could sell the bits of the engine so happy days... could be.

Its just a thought depends if the engine is good etc. Its such a good car but if someone offered me the price i would sell. Marcs sold his car and he's got dosh too invest

Lol kind of sounds tempting but was wondering if anyone has had the experience of it too. Suppose were theirs risk theres reward.

absolutely... one of the most recent conversions was done by user 'Z32' you could search his threads, I know he had a few problems along the line but only struggled with the crossover of different bits (its a bit of a mash-up) but well worth it. Will transform yours, and I dare say make it worth closer to 5k than 3k?????? (just guessing but think I may be onto something) :detective:

Yeah i had a look at his thread. The mechanic will know what he's doing but a tt ecu would be better.Good thinking would make the car more valuable and also alot more fun than it already is.

I've got an original Nissan replacement ECU for a TT thats only 5 years old, so let me know if you go down this route as most of them around are 20 years old lol ;)

Bloody Norah thats dear was thinking about 80 quid ha

I'm confused???

Thought you were selling the Z as you couldn't afford to run it as a daily driver now you're thinking of shelling out over £800 to stick a TT engine in????

You win the lottery last night and not sharing :)

Lol I wish. just an idea as Marc has sold his celica and has got some money for a car and to put back into the zed. If it doesnt go for what I want the conversion at the price seems logical, as I really want a tt.

thats a bit closer lol. :turned:

Hi Jane

Mark - Topless on here - did the conversion to his convertible ZX some time ago....

......I don't recall it being cheap or easy though; but then nothing is on a 300zx!

Why not drop JeffTT a line and ask his advice?

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

And I can only advise turning a TT into a single T

Save your money and just fit a lightened pulley/flywheel, tubular manifolds and tt injectors and you'll be pulling alongside stock twin turbos, making a nicer sound, have much more grunt lower down and believe me from owning both you'll love your na more than you ever thought possible :)

If somebody is willing to do it for £500 and he has a lot of z experience and you know and trust them, then snap his hand off.

Your looking at more like £1500 labour typically, plus about £1000 in parts (or a complete donor vehicle)
