steve really did do a great job, he really knows his stuff andis happy to explain what he is doing, really pleased with the results. here is his site http://fctuning.com/fctwp/

HP vs TQ

attachment.php?attachmentid=55784&stc=1&d=1282749003

what i went to steve with an what i left with...

attachment.php?attachmentid=55785&stc=1&d=1282749003

Power @ the wheels vs Tractive Effort (how much thrust/grip the car develops on the rollers - nearly 1500 Ft Ibs)

attachment.php?attachmentid=55786&stc=1&d=1282749003

HP vs Air Fuel Ratio (average engine fuel mixtures picked up from both Banks of the V6)

attachment.php?attachmentid=55787&stc=1&d=1282749003

Hp vs Boost 1.2 dropping to 1bar (very normal with STOCK actuators) only way to cure this solidly is HKS 1.2 BAR actuators with Much STIFFER springs) but atleast this time BOOST is much much more consistent - making the tune for me easier to do and set up

oh yea and the car is on standard engine, turbos and injectors

Wow, thats got to be the kindest dyno ever!!!

No offence to you or your car as Its a great example that Ive seen in the flesh lots of times but 437BHP on a totaly stock engine?

Was there also a bog standard XR3I they got 300bhp out of as well?

  • Author

nope its a new, dyno dynamics dyno giving 100% accurate readings, its just mapped properly, he did say my car did very well considering but that any good standard zed mapped properly should make 390-410.

In my last zed I got 407bhp and 439torque, standard engine, turbos, injectors, intercoolers ect, on a Dyno Dynamics roller. Also it was almost touching 100,000 miles.

People forking out on upgraded turbo's running 20psi, 555 injectors, increased cilinder capacity, uprated MAF's ect ect to only get 30 bhp more than you on stock will be gutted!

Or they will believe the results as much as I do ;)

I was advised that mine was on the limits, ovbiously with £££ spent on upgrades it could handle similar/more power without stressing.

Excellent figure for stock :)

cheers guys, he said it would make more power but would damage the engine when driven on the road so he tuned it safely :)

Great figures..

Hope for us all then with relatively standard engines. How much did the session cost - if you don't mind me asking?

Also, do take the figures with a pinch of salt - but I would say that you have a guaranteed 400 brake at the the fly which is pretty freakin cool:thumbup1: Dyno results do tend to vary from system to system, but I would suggest a maximum difference of about 20% between the most optimistic and pessimistic ones. But what else are you supposed to do?

Great stuff - thanks for sharing:clap:

oh and the place where the tuning was done are up for a dyno day

the tuning is about £150 per session but first he solders a daughter board into your ecu and puts nistune on it so he can do the tuning. this is about 600 including the first tuning session iirc. i only had to go back for another session as my turbo was knackered.

Very good result matey, great power for a standard 300. Awesome!!!

Al.

Impressive graphs... Although 70bhp transmission loss does seem a little high! Especially since your at the fly is 285 in the first place, so that means your car was 215 at the wheels before you started which seems very low. Have got an ATW for standard?

Maybe i'm mis understanding but I dont see how the transmission loss can change. It surely should be constant per car (obviously different types of car, and even different cars of the same type will all be different fair enough) Just seems a hell of alot!

that was with the boost controller turned off so on actuator pressures and with all settings at standard

  • Author

yup, so produced just above factory figures on factory tune with a little less boost iirc.

whilst my car was being mapped, my son was in the car with steve, he showed him all sorts and explained what each bit meant, i believe he said that with the corrct map any standard zed with a good engine, turbos, etc should be able to get between 390 and 410.all i can say is i would not go anywhere else, great advice, reliable and the results speak for themselves i guess, soon i will be putting up a thread about a rolling road day, then lots of us can compare our power and if needed get a little advice,:bow::bow:

  • Author

yup that was the first session, the latest one will be up soon

berrica's car (steve300zx old car) hit 410bhp on a good engine, just exhaust, boost controller, chip, manifolds and larger intercoolers, all on standard tubs and internals and so on

it did this twice at two seperate dyno's

good result yassa

Nistune is the same system I use, its very good. You don't need to leave the daughterboard in there. I just have an ECU with it fitted that I map with then burn the image to a chip and fit that to the car, saves the customer the cost of the board.

Most I ever got from mine before I pulled the VG30 was 350RWHP @ 1.1bar (before V-Power) but it was absoutely marginal, I wouldn't have tuned someone else's car like that.

Nice - although I wonder why the RWHP graph crosses over at a lower rpm - torque & HP should be the same at 5252rpm as in the first 2 graphs but the 3rd is lower?!

12 afr is a bit lean really, looking at the graph it hits just above 12 afr at 6000rpm.
