I liked it more with the spoiler but each to there own.

But.................i love the look of this zed could possibly be one of my favourites.lol!!

would i need to fit new sensors or just extend the signal wires over?

You would need to fit new sensors. You can get a pipe that replaces part of the top radiator pip with a sensor in. The oil pressure will probably fit near the oil temp sensor if its fitted via a sandwich plate.

anyone got any ideas what guages to put in here? i've allready got boost and oil temp pillar mounted.

Transmission temp?

Paint looks great.:thumbup1:

I'd prefer it to have no spoiler than a high level one, but if cash permitted I think the 99spec one would finish it off.

I have the smooth spoiler if you require one :)

smooth spoiler sounds tempting, what would the damage be? does it need blending in, or does it just bolt on?

+1 on thw spoiler, how much did your seat retrim cost cause they look tidy, and how did you go about doing it, did you supply the matrials and if so from where?

Many thanks,

Hollings.

the seats wern't a retrim, i got them from dave rolly (rolly being his alias) he got a new interiour so was getting rid of the red set, so i snapped it right up at the price he wanted.

I'm after some info myself on a retrim myself, i want the rest of the grey tweed replacing with some red leather.

i've seen that zedcentre sell a kit that comes pre cut and custom made with choice of colours and materials. but it is excess of £500 if i remember corectly. however i have also seen that ebay have a company that do the same kit in a similar choice and thats just £65 pluss postage. it includes the door trims, centre console, glove box, stearing wheel under bit, and both rears. however there matching seats are about £700.

I was tempted by the ebay kit, and to just have a go at fitting it myself. but theres allways the chance of it going tits up, and allso the chance of the colour not exactly matching thus ruining the effect.

Transmission temp?

this sounds tempting, however allso sounds expensive, don't really fancy taking the box back out.

skin??? is that what it looks like when you just remove standard spoiler and fill the dips in? i like that

No John, same as mine, the smooth lip spoiler is also known as a tailgate skin.

I will try and find the pics for what your after.

This is what you are left with, without the spoiler and the perspex strip if you had one http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/7937/tailgate1jm1.jpg

Here with a strip and smoothed http://www.teamdmuk.com/images/forumpics/300ZXpic1.jpg

Here with it sprayed, albeit added a spoiler, but you get the idea http://www.teamdmuk.com/gallery/albums/Lady%20Smallfry%27s%20300ZX%20FAIRLADY%20Z/Gills-fairladyz4.jpg

Out of interest Steve, how much did the spray job cost? Also, did you have the whole car done, or just parts of it?

I have a table style mid level 1995 spoiler for sale if you fancy it :)

ahhh skin, yes, this is what i need. is this something you can buy or something i have to make? sorry for being young dumb and full of . nevermind lol

Lovely looking paint job you have there :) ive been toying with what to do with my rear end and i remember someone saying that a lwb doesnt look right without a spoiler and finally i have seen a pic of one without and i have to agree. I think the lwb needs something on the rear end to finish that long look off. Also ive got my hands on exactly the same glove box install looks like there were a few of these made and at current it has exhaust gas temp gauge and compound boost gauge but i reckon i will be changing this.

Marty

yeah i agree it does need a spoiler, just not a manky standard one, its very 80s, i think im right in saying the old one needs to come off, a skin needs to go on, the you put your new spoiler on.

spray cost £400, was the whole outside of the car, didn't go under the bonnet, but did however do inside the doors where some bits were showing through. it was a mates rates job. its not perfect, but i really can't winge for £400.

i think its only a matter of time before i put the big spoiler back on. its all sprayed up and ready. think i mite get some of the crystal rear lights fitted first, and then eventually get round to putting it back on.

£400!! that's a great price mate. getting mine done in a few weeks and i've been quoted £600, and i thought THAT was a good price :)

Get the spoiler back on, or at least some spoiler :)

you still painting it white?

all in good time the spoiler will return......watch this space!

i like the pearl peter, but i do remeber what you were saying about the bumpers. should look nice when its all done, id the front bumper growing on you yet?

Chears Veteran, i do keep changing my mind about the spoiler. i let my mate have a go at drifting it the other day on a field. it gave the first opertunity for me to see it driving (as i'm allways in it) and it really did look nice without the spoiler. i realy would like to get a lip spoiler, or to just have it smothed and sprayed. however its a bit late now, if i try to get another one sprayed it'll never match the rest of the job, so i'll have a multi coloured car again. it is going to be a regret for some time. think i'll get the lights ordered and fitted and then leave the extereour for a while. and then when i get bored of it i'll put the big spoiler back on.
