Hi, recently brought a n/a fairlady z, 1994 model which was just converted to manual from auto.

Just wondering if the previous owner changed the ecu to a manual one, or if the auto engine ecu will work one as it is,

Just looking at chips for the ecu and they clearly state manual or auto.

cheers for help, ill try get some numbers from old ecu today

Pretty certain an auto will work in a manual but not the other way around.

Yes, an auto ECU on a manual car works fine (but not the other way round unless you have a separate boost controller).

Groover is referring to the autobox ECU, which your case would no longer be needed.
