How sure are you?????

Looking at his website its set up for 93 octane at best.

Since He probably wont have access to any 99 ron fuel or ECUs or cars i doubt very much if he has done any work on Euro/UK/JDM spec cars.

I personally dont see any advantage in using any US spec stuff like that over here.

Maybe some else knows different???

If his Fan kit is anything to go by i would avoid alltogether(IMHO of course)

Hmm...

thanks Pete.

But Pete are you saying there are no people in the States running Jspec cars? And there are no 100 Octane over there? I though there race fuel is 100 Octane or am I mistaking?

:(

You cant compare the 2 numbers - US measures their octane rating in a different way to the UK:

"Generally, octane ratings are higher in Europe than they are in North America and most other parts of the world. This is especially true when comparing the lowest available octane level in each country. In many parts of Europe, 95 RON (90-91 AKI) is the minimum available standard, with 97/98 RON being higher specification (being called Super Unleaded). The higher rating seen in Europe is an artifact of a different underlying measuring procedure. In most countries (including all of Europe and Australia) the "headline" octane that would be shown on the pump is the RON, but in Canada, the United States and some other countries the headline number is the average of the RON and the MON, sometimes called the Anti-Knock Index (AKI), Road Octane Number (RdON), Pump Octane Number (PON), or (R+M)/2. Because of the 8 to 10 point difference noted above, this means that the octane in the United States will be about 4 to 5 points lower than the same fuel elsewhere: 87 octane fuel, the "regular" gasoline in Canada and the US, would be 91-92 in Europe. However most European pumps deliver 95 (RON) as "regular", equivalent to 90–91 US AKI=(R+M)/2, and deliver 98, 99 or 100 (RON) (93-94 AKI) labeled as Super Unleaded - thus regular petrol sold in much of Europe corresponds to premium sold in the United States."

I was under the understanding that it was Ashspec that made the first electric fan kit for the zed before all the copies came out and that is why im fitting one to my zed. I have heard good things about them

expect it to your door step around 2013

At last!

I can't believe it. Its finally turned up. It's taken 50-60 emails, 379 days, at least a dozen phone calls ( got no answer from any of them ). I must admit I didn't think it would turn up. I posted on the US forums to try and get a response or some help.

It's my radiator fan and shroud from Ashspec. It turned up Monday morning. He had gave me a shipping number last week in a email, but until it turned up at my door I wouldn't of believed it had been sent.

The guy is a nightmare to deal with. Im just glad I planned my rebuild a year ago and started ordering bits then or it would of held my rebuild up.

I forgot to say he forgot to send the mounting brackets, I've emailed him, lets hope it don't take another year.

Anyway thought I would share this with you and just do more research before buying anything from Ash.

Thanks,

Ant

Its a good job ive got mine already then :) however with all the other discussions about electric fans not being up to the job if they could sort the delivery out they would be onto a winner

you get a fully 100% working viscous as nissan intended and you'll never ever need a leccy one..and for the power they bleed from the crank is nothing you'd notice compared to the risk of another elecitrical item to fail along with the temp switch failing too.

viscous all day long:wink:
