Actuators are located /bolted to the tubs i know this but dont no what they do or are responable for nor do i know how you can test them?

are they movement in the arms ment to stiff or just move?

You shouldn't be able to move the wastegate flapper (or WG arm) unless you use force.

You can test the actuator with an aircompressor and preferably a regulator valve set to approx 1 bar.

put some pressured air on the WG actuator's port and the arm/wategate flapper should move/open.

IMPORTANT: don't put too much pressure (more then 2 bar) on the actuator or you may damage the actuator's internal membrane

Thanks for that mate

Yeah I have fitting of HKS adjustable items pending. Not an easy job, engine really has to come out! If your tubs aren't 100% probably best to do them at the same time, new actuators will most likely allow higher boost and turbo failure/problems become more likely.

'but dont no what they do or are responable for'

They open the wastegates to relieve boost pressure at a preset level, i.e. they are ultimately responsible for the level of boost you can achieve.

Cheers

depends if you have a nice view of the actuator arm i tried fitting a boost controller to mine last night couldn't see a thing... a waste gate just controles how much exhaust gas is directed to the turbine wheel if there was no wastegate assy a turbo would just spin up far to much causing over boost so it opens a "gate" so some exhaust gas can bypass the turbo so the boost can be controled.. ad that to a some screemer pipes an you have a serious neighbour annoyer
