Made me smile

I got a young lad who works at a specialised VW garage to change the pads and discs on the zed today. He does all the work on my Scirocco.

I was running a session at the local sports centre and on my way back to the centre i buzzed him to see if he had done the car, he had and came to meet me at the sports centre.

He got out of the car with a glint in his eye, and i quote "...f**k me Paul, I have got to get me one of these..... I mean i've been in some fast cars , but that just takes the p*ss..."

It was at that point that i pointed out to him that she was still in lazyboy mode, i.e. overdrive not on and not in power mode. He then said that he would do any more work on the car for free if he could get to go for a burn in it.

Cue massive grin on my face... i guess she doesn't feel that rapid to me as i drive her every day and have been lucky with my past motors (or more to the point my brothers motors which he allows me to drive) But it is nice to get that sort of response.

Likewise when i saw the car approaching down the road, i was reminded how lush they are, what a great design, 20 years on and still looking super cool.

Just thought i'd share that, as when i got home and told the missus, she looked unimpressed and bored.

I will NEVER tire of the way the zed looks or performs! Sure, I'll swap my engine for a TT some day but they are awesome cars - wish my mechanic would work on mine for free in exchange for a go in it!!

Quality, its great driving them but when you see someone driving towards you in your car and you just think "YES THATS AWSOME" what a great feeling.

Well I get mates rates if thats wot you mean!! lol

awesome read that Paul. Its great to receive feedback from someone else

I told my mate to drive my Z down the road and back the other day - just so I could hear it lol. :tt2:

i pulled up outside my daughters house the other week and this young kid about 12 asked me what car it was . was it a porsche or a ferrari . i just smiled and told him he better watch top gear that week .

I know what you mean and it gets looks all the time wherever i drive, however one cheeky young kid, ( picture the scene) im sat at traffic lights, windows open and roofs off, and he says " are you gonna paint that mate" :blink:cheeky brat.

If you look at my journal you will see what he's getting at, but generally i get the "nice car" shouted by kids as you drive past
