i just wish there was someone local who knows about these things to put me out of me misery, as i dont know what pipes to look for,

i got pair of turbos on standbye, just cant believe mine would go in just 50K

and believe me i never boot it

you said you have a hiss on the N/S front being a tt you will most likely have two intercoolers on either side of the front bumper

check the pipes by unbolting the mud shield if you have them only the front would be needed to be loosened, also remove the headlamp panel between the lights check the intercooler pipes under there as well sounds like you might have a split pipe or clamp loose blowing the pipe off

this wont help on the problem but will show you where intercoolers are

missed the link out lol

rang MJP he friend is booked til end september, he thinks it could be the turbos seized.

So whos selling tubs?

Id be inclined to agree, zero boost prolly means seized turbo, larger boost leaks cause running issues, and one that gave zero boost almost certainly would.

Thank you,

im gutted fella, just hope its a leak,

i find outr in 7 hours. cant frigging sleep

OK update, she been on ramp all day, turbos are free nd spinning, but when you rev the actuators are not moving, but they are not seized, cant find any leaks from thre ic or big pipes,

Also the hi cas is pouring out fluid from a pipe thats split, but i have a hi cas delete

Perhaps one of the pipes where the boost jets are installed has come off. Think a boost leak test would be a good idea. Is it drivable enough to bring up to me ? I have boost leak detector and compressor etc.

Just for your info and AndyP in case he gets a chance to help, you ths above is a red herring, I spoke to the garage who have taken a look at the zed in question and they have NOT hand spun the turbos, they have NOT checked the intercoolers and seem to be struggling to understand the 300zx turbo pipework layout, I am sure they have any area of expertise but the Z32 is not it, hopefully they undestood the method of testing I explained to them and if they did you should soon have a better idea.let see what tomorrow brings, if you could get it to AndyP though that would be a better option.

well i was shocked ay £900 to supply and fit one turbo on that side, or a £1000 to fit 2 of my own new turbos.

I may be selling her next week, such a shame

The fact it was off the road so long may have caused a few problems. Sometimes a little often use is better than not using it at all. I'm guessin you're pretty devastated at the mo, but give it a week, see how you feel and go from there. Look at it this way, if you do the turbo change you aint gonna have to worry about them for a good few years. Providing you're sensible with the boost and don't blow the engine, you've already got one of the biggest potential headaches out the way.

And just remember, unless you buy a very modern vehicle you'll always be parting with cash over cars.. (some more than others, obviously). I reckon having come this far its worth getting it sorted..

gutted price of fitting a tub is more than he cost of the car, without even including the tubs.

This is all too common these days, feel for ya mate but its not wise buying a £35 k car for peanuts then being shocked at the repair costs. You cant run these on a tight budget when they are used daily or bought cheap as they WILL go wrong and cost a lot of money.Ask any of the longer term members what they have spent mechanically, sit down first though.

I know what youmean, i have had mine from day 1"""

and have fsh also never ever had a prob with it until i put back on the road,

i now just pushing the 50k mark

and all ever spent on it was a battery and usual service,

And until recently a J dixon chip, .

Im going to think about what to do with it now,

As for budget,

I didnt think i would be coming back from Afghanistan with £187 a week to live off
