If it was running badly then I would say you have seized a turbo, but as it's running right then I'd say one of the vacuum pipes near the boost gauge has popped off.

just checked as many pipes as i can, all appears in order.,.,

Cars running perfect but boost just going to 0,

Could it be a safe thing where car was cold,

cos it didnt half move,

or is it something more less serious??

Good chance you have blown a pipe off, the intercooler one`s are favorite for that, try removing the front undertrays and check the connections, failing that a boost leak check needs doing.

Well if you really think it's running right then there shouldn't be a problem. Aside from that you are in standard boost until the water temp reaches 60 deg C (I think), after that the BSCV are operated and advanced boost is enabled, but in either case you should still see about 7psi when cold or a bit more with the boost jets in.

Still think a vacuum line will have come off the boost gauge though.

If the car was cold then yes the ECU will not allow full power until fully warmed up.

Maybe this is what you experienced?

You need to do a ECU check for fault codes. It stores the last known fault.

Take it from there....

ok boost guage, is that the one in my dash, so i need to take my dash out?

Car was fairly warm as already been to shops and was in there 10 minutes, i thinking now it wasnt that,

I will do a fault code check now,

Ahh, now you say car's not pulling at all, before you said it was OK. Go with Jeff's suggestion.

NO i meant car is Running fine as in ticking over idling cruising etc, but no boost just moves upto the 0 on boost guage, like driving a na car

You need to follow the procedures to check for a boost leak - I suspect you'll find a big one !

procedures ok, i havent clue on them, i just trying to find a garage near me, been 2 garages so far, didnt have a clue about zeds

rang MJP he friend is booked til end september, he thinks it could be the turbos seized.

So whos selling tubs?

Are you sure you're counting right? That page says

12. The codes will begin to flash. Theres one long flash that signifies the start of the sequence. Following should be 10 short flashes. Then it repeats. So that's 1 + 10

Doesn't stack up with "got 2 flashes slow then 7 fast flashes" which is 9?

  • Author

i got 7 flashes, took to box specialist something to do with a solenoid,

However nothing to do with the boost or lack of.

Anyone know how to do the boost test,

MJP mentioned something about putting rubber glove on ic pipe and see if it blows up or something, is there an how to,

You need to becareful now otherwise you are going to spend a fortune and still not be right.

Book it into a well known 300zx specialist such as Zedworld, D2, Jimmer etc and let them diagnose it properly and fix it correctly.
