What sort of MPG do you get with the Level-10 Convertor?

Also, does it affect your top speed - being as the car starts moving at a higher RPM?

Cheers

To tell you the truth I was expecting my MPG to go bit lower. But nothing had changed. I am still using the same amount of money every week and I travel the same distance and I have the same amount of fuel in my car.

About top speef? No it has no affect on top speed. I have reached 278Km few days ago and if the highway was still straight line i would have gone for more i believe.

LEVEL-10: This is the way it works on the highway: Imagine that you are driving at around 100Km/h and you decide to hit the throttle.

The AUTO box will drop the gears and the LEVEL-10 will kick in as soon as turbos bilds up the boost. Is like having a MANUAL and you slip the clutch. You feel the power of the car much more.

From standing still is a different story. You can lock the converter at higher RPMS.

To give you an example of the diference.

I havent taken my car at the track yet. Everything that I have recorded its by using my SBC-ID.

0-100 without the converter (JWT ECU, BLITX intake and BB Triflow) best i did was 4.8sc

And 1/4 mile was 12.9sec

0-100 with the converter and same mods best i did was 4.1sec.

And 1/4 mile was 12.1sec

how does the torque converter fit to ya car?

this is the first time ive ever heard of one,do you no of a tech file i could read about em?thanks jay

Jay,

In quick terms - drop the gearbox, slide the old TC out, put the new one in..

Ok as you guessed its a bit harder than that really, but not much - it's just the various attachments that need doing (from memory, torque convertor to flexplate, and centre spindle to input shaft, but it's been a while since I looked at that page of the manual..)

Not a plug for NitroPow or anything - but I've heard nothing but good things about Level-10 kit, it's big in the states.

I would be very interested but I bet the delivery would kill it.

Its like changing the clutch disk on a Manual car.

you just take the gearbox out. Take out the stock converter and replace with aftermarket. Put it back, fill with oil and here u go

When I first read this post I thought what the the f*** is a level 10 billet convertor, from the replies I gather it's a torque convertor so what the f*** does a torque convertor do, in fact how does an autobox work. I've actually changed the autobox on my own car when it went t*ts up (i used the old torque convertor as a torque convertor wasn't supplied with the replacement box) and it was pretty straightforward but I ain't got a clue how it works. Can some give a brief explanation of the autobx principle in general or specifically for the 300ZX.

May be interested in both, will e mail you soon.

Thanks

At that price it's a bargain but Nitro you 1/4 mile and race quite a bit don't you?

How strong are these Level 10 convertors?

I think Maciej has got one aswell.

I am mad about racing smile.gif Especially from rolling. The point is that when you roll and somebody challenges you to race, you dont ask him to stop and race 400meters. You hit the gas and smoke him.

My AUTO was very fast at 1/4 mile. I raced WRX, Mitsubishi EVO 5 and I kick their ass. From standing still. Now I can't even get close to my AUTO 1/4 times but like i said i prefer street race rather that 1/4 race.

As for LEVEL-10 stregth. All people I know at TT.net using L10 have no issues with it.

And like I said before, that was the best think I did for my car.

FANTAZ at TT.net has used several different brands of converters and L10 has the most drop at 1/4 of all. Do a search and u can find his posts.
