I don't want to break or warp this roof trim on the slicky but have looked and please will someone tell me how these come off.

Have removed the end bung and I am still baffled. :confused1:

I will be having autoglass round and I want to prepare the car in readiness for his or her arrival for a replacement windscreen. :thumbup1:

They also need a coat of paint and I want to clean in the roof channel where they sit.

Thanks in advance,

Andy.

or have a look at the 300zx Tech Index http://www.300zx.org.uk/tech_00.htm where you'll find a link called Exterior body molding replacement http://s95014253.onlinehome.us/63104/13701.html

It's amazing how many answers are already out there collected by people (including forum members like this one) to make it easy for people to find.

IN fact, I've got a set of trims for my Zed but haven't had the guts to try replacing them yet so I'm glad you made me go looking :)

Has anyone ever removed the black stuff and left them chrome? How do they look? Mine are looking ratty too and been thinking of leaving em chrome

I can answer that as mine had places where the coating had come off, the only way is to remove the lot and start again. It came off very easily in fact with some emery cloth.

I have now primed and gloss blacked, they look very well.

The coating on them before was a kind of textured and a faded grey colour, now they are flat of course and very black.

I did offer up the back to chrome trim to the car and I did not like and anyway there is some black rubber glued all the way down which is visible once fitted. :tongue_smilie:

See pics, before, after and during.
