One of the staff found a kitten in her back garden, after looking she found another three and their mother living under a blown down fence panel out there.

She spent the weekend knocking all the neighbours doors and puting posters up but it looks like they are homeless. She has a dog and a rabbit so is unable to keep them, she brought them into work today to try and get the RSPCA to take them or Cats protection league. No one is able to take them until Friday as there are so many cats looking for homes.

Cut a long story short we have bought them a big rabbit run and got them a bed and toys and they are living in the office until then.

They are so cool I reckon they are about 4-5 weeks

that's the exact reason I think owners should have their animals neutered, rescue homes just can't cope with the amount needing new homes :( Personally I will always have dogs from rescue homes.

Well done for stepping in and taking care of them

Good luck hope you find a home soon. We adopted two last year from the RSPCA. Yes you have to neuter, just cruel not to.

The mother is quite tame, I expect she was abandoned or got lost or something. She used to be a domestic cat as she is still quite sweet and you can stroke her. She is very very skinny though, not enough food for some time combined with feeding the kittens has really taken it out of her. The kittens hiss a bit but are still young enough to turn out OK everyone in the office keeps handling them so that will help them to become used to people.

I agree if people would get their cats and dogs done it would mean that there would be far less without homes.

Yep... It's a big problem at the moment; We adopted two cats a few weeks back and the place we got them said that this meant that they can now take another pair in but they have a waiting list of over 150 cats and they're saying that they may have to start putting animals to sleep if they're not adopted soon.

The main reason people aren't adopting at the moment is financial... Cats aren't that cheap to keep and people just don't realise it so if they've got them an something goes wrong they just want to get rid of them quickly, they're not really bothered by the fact it's an animal and toy, it's an ailment of the throw away society that we live in now-a-days...

Let us know what happens with these guys mate and make sure the mother gets plenty of liquid and food, hopefully the RSPCA will take them but if not I might know someone that will. Let me know and I'll ask them.

Cheers

we got our two cats from the cats protection place and i have never meet a friendlyer cat. love them to bits and i could never understand how someone could treat their pet so badly.

good effort in looking after them, perhapse they could be like an office mascot

and i could never understand how someone could treat their pet so badly.

Yep its unbelievable the things people do, I asked the rspca where the cats come from and they said alot of times people just throw them over the fence. I mean wtf you've gone down there its free to bring them in and you just lob him over the fence

awww they are well cute! we have just got a kitten to go with our 2 year old cat, I love cats they are great pets.

Aww they are indeed cute Martin!

I've just shown Julia the pics and she wants all of them - shame we really don't have the commitment for cats at the moment.....

I really hope everything works out for them and nice work to you and your staff for looking after them:thumbup1:

Rihcard:thumbup:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Used to have two cats, pure white brothers, had them from new.

One lived to 11, the other to 13... great pets, very self sufficient.

We got 2 house rabbits now, got them from a rescue centre, already

had all the injections, neutered etc... £45 the pair... bargain!
