I have a Jap spec car and since I have had it the indicator on left turn did not cancel. :mad2:

I have off ebay bought one and it was advertised as a UK spec but it was very cheap and thought I would give it a go. :winkiss:

I have included two pics, the Jap one on the left pic as an extra 3 pin multi plug that the UK one does not, so obviously I cannot connect the wire from the car if there is now nowhere for it to go!!!

Tested everything and all seems to work perfectly :cool3:

My question - Why this extra 3 pin on the J-specs??

Cruise control cancel perhaps? Depending on the model and year? Or maybe from an airbag model?

How does dip/main work on UK cars? I'd check my J-spec outside but it's still in the bloody garage in Essex.

Yours has the optional kerb lighting when turning and side lights on, rare stalk that.

Ahhh, that makes sense. Hi Jeff. I think that kerb lighting is from S3 onward. At least mine's got it and it's an S3. Phutumsch, what Series is yours?

What's a Series 2.5? Series 2 is '92/8 - '93/9 Series 3 is '93/9 - '94/10.

What is this feature then? Mine is S4 should it have it? Or was it an option, any way to check other than taking the steering cowl to bits?

to fit the new stalk was very easy, remove top and bottom cowl, two screws on the stalk and the multi plug, simples.

i am going to look at my wiring in the front corners tomorrow and investigate.

i might even put the j spec stalk back on now even when it does not cancel correctly!!!

Yeah i want to have a look and see if mine has the feature. Although it does have 99 spec front lights with LED sides and no fogs etc so chances are the wiring is less than OEM lol

I have a good look today at the wiring at the indicators and although I did get heartened when I found a loose wire on the passenger side, I could not get any joy. :glare: Joining and bridging wires across and all that.

I was looking with the indicators flashing for a wire that became live with these on but could not find one, so alas I have gone back to the newly bought UK indicator stalk and my indicator lense is the indicators of course and my side lights are there instead of in the front fogs.

If I would of got the side lights to come on with that corresponding indicator, I don't know what I would of done as I like my side lights where they are and to be on all the time.

Forgot to say that when I got the car these indicator lenses where just doing the indicators, it is I that got these 'two job' lenses and converted them to side lights, so it's been a while if ever the car did light up that side of the road when indicated.
