...Daily driver that is. I currently have a 2 litre Alfa 156, its a brilliant car, just think I need something with a turbo for a bit more 'go'.

So I'd sell the alfa for £1100-ish, I will be looking upto about £1500 for a turbocharged (petrol) motor - any suggestions or recommendations welcome! Ideally something fairly new - 1997 onwards. (new to me :blushing: )

Cars that have already crossed my mind:

Saab 9-3 / 9-5 turbo

Audi A4 / A6 1.8T

Passat 1.8T

Volvo S40 T4

any others? :helpsmilie:

Yeah there good cars

The only thing that peed me off with this car is how far the sterring wheel is off to the left. almost centeral with the clutch pedal :wack:

Yeah I'm used to that now, my clutch foot kept catching on the footrest which was annoying, but nearly cracked it

:lol: the old nova use to be like that. I dont know why they do it. Think its something to do with when you have a colision or something like?

I think it's more due to when they make the cars in right hand drive for the UK market.....

......Whilst you can make a RHD dash, swap the steering wheel, brake servo and battery etc; you can't change things like the position of the engine and gearbox or the shape of the bellhousing!

A lot of Audis and BMs have oddly offset pedals (or an awkwardly positioned clutch) because of that!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Thanks Richard  never knew that but I also did wonder!

Getting some 18" Deep Dish Ronal wheels for it tomorrow so it should start looking a bit better.... still think I prefer the alfa though :wack:

Standard bolts are too short though lol! Plus may need the arches rolling or overfenders at the back  :whistling:

Very nice mate, I want to get some M3 bumpers next then that will about do I think. It sounds really nice at the mo but is on a standard system, do you know if 328's sound good with a stainless system on?

The wheels I bought are aftermarket (Ronal's) the rears are 18x10 ET24 and the fronts 18x8.5 ET15. Rears are right fattys though

yeah, sounds very throaty with stainless, mine had cat back system, unsure of the make? sounded lovley when the vanos kicked in a 5k!!

Not noticed the left bias in any bmw's myself, but I always notice it in french cars, the pedals are completely in the wrong place in most of them.

Will make a point of checking my 5series tomorrow to see
