im off to view a set of wheels later on . they are currently fitted to a maxda rx7 . the sizes are front 225 x40 x 18. rears 255 x 35 x 18 . im sure there is scope to increase both front and rear a little . maybe 245 front and 265 /275 rear . not sure what the offsets are . does anybody know if the hub sizes and offsets for a mazda rx7 is similar to the zed . especially the hub . unfortunately i cant take the zed to do a trial fit as shes in a few pieces at the moment

cheers

Aftermarket wheels are highly unlikely to be hubcentric for a particular model of car so don't worry about that - the problem is RX7's tend to use higher offsets than the 300 boys, so you may want to consider spacers... take em for a test fit though you never know :)

Sorry just realised you can't test.. what's the offsets? As far as I know you're talking around 30-32offset being ideal for the front if running an 8" wheel, you can then compensate a little with wider wheels. Caliper clearance, and in the Z's case adjustment arm clearance is usually the thing that catches people out - It comes down to many factors, you could have 18x9.5's up front with 20 offset and still end up with the caliper being fouled depending on spoke design (hugely unlikely example but you get the idea).

Centre bore will be different. RX-7 centre bore is slightly larger than the Z32. Only by about 2mm I think. Judging by the tyre widths, I'd imagine those wheel widths are 8" and 9" respectively.

As above, the rears will most likely be similar to the Z, but the fronts will more than likely require spacers to look good.

just been and got them . fronts are 8.5jj and rears 9.5jj . off sets of 35 on both front and rear . im gonna have to get some spigot rings to bring down from about 72mm. is the zed 66mm . am i likely to need spacers anywhere to bring out near flush . ive got standard arches and brakes.

cheers guys

actually si they look very similar to whats on yours . please dont tell me yours have been nicked.

what is the name of the wheels

Christ, get some wider tyres on pronto then! Rear offset/width is spot on. Fronts could do with 15mm.

Mine are Advan Siena Generation II.

mazda and mitsi have the largest bores, the rest of the jap cars are a bit smaller, so like you said you will need some spigot rings, and for god's sake dont get the crappy plastic ones, ive just changed the wheels on my fto to RX8 wheels and discovered a melted round piece of crappy plastic behind the wheels and they were really hard to pull off as it was melted on very badly, get metal ones and you struggle with finding one an engineering company will be able to make them easy with the right dimensions.

Yeah that's good going :cool2: You might need 2-5mm spacers up front to clear the caliper and 2-5mm at back to clear the lower adj. rod but you'll find that out once you fit them! Check the back of the rear wheel for fouling once installed just to make sure! Should look pretty sweet though :gunsmilie:

Rears won't need ANY spacing!

Mine did, 17x9.5 et25-30 (not marked but I've had tonnes of sets of alloys so a fair guess). The bottom alignment arm fouled the wheels inside lip by a fraction of a mm and has gouged the alloy to buggery - the previous owner didn't notice though.

edit - I didn't notice myself until it was up on the inpection ramp, was pretty shocked myself never come across such a problem before with low offset wheels. It could be the design of the lip though, its quite thick at the rear

Big difference in ET25 and ET35 mate!! As I said, he WON'T need spacers on the rear!!!!!!!!

ET25's stick out even further than 35's so should be less of a worry - BUT I must apologise nonetheless, I went out to check last night, and whilst the arm is very close to the rear, it acctually sits just inside of the wheel whilst on the ground, but when I jacked it up the geometry changed slightly and thats what caused it to touch :) So yeah, no need for spacers on the ground!
