Nice cars IMO - forerunner to the F355; the last "traditional" Ferrari.....

....Other than the maintenance costs I can't see any downside to owning one!

Richard:cool2:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I gess so, i know it wouldent be as quick as a tuned tt but i just love the sound of a screaming v8

I'm not sure there - the Ferrari is no slouch and (most probably) lighter....

....but yes; there's nothing like the sound of a V8

I briefly looked at getting one a few years ago before moving house. It's the cost of maintenance that's the killer. Servicing costs alone are in the thousands. Parts are simply astronomical.

One of my mates had one when he was 21. It completely wiped him out financially and he had his own business! He'd never have another as it was just ridiculous in just maintaining it.

A classic Ferrari like the GTO, yes definately.

Classy, eligant and a bit 'special'

a newer ferrari like the 348tb, sorry but not for me

At the lights I'd feel like that stereotypical Ferrari owner in 'The Fast and the Furious', a complete c**t

348 and 355 were two of the best looking modern day Ferraris and many achnowledge that! I think you're in a minority there! LOL 348 and 355 are great looking cars. Pert and sexy, great stances/lines. Really nice looking cars.

BTW, I think the 250 California was far nicer looking than the GTO!

Of course it's all subjective however i suppose it depends where you look for your stats:

I've got:

3rd place Ferrari 250 GTO

6th place Ferrari Enzo

12th place Ferrari F40

17th place Ferrari F430

26th place Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona

46th place Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano

It's much like a 300zx, buy one and you might be lucky, it might last a long time without requiring anything more than standard car servicing.. or you might not be so lucky, but instead of spending 500+ a month fixing things you'll be spending big big money! It's a gamble, but it would be very special to own a real fezza!

46th place Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano

Without doubt their ugliest creation! They are so unassuming on the roads as well. They have very limited road presence compared to other Ferraris.

I don't even think the Enzo is a particularly attractive or sexy car despite its price tag and abilities.

Though they placed the Nissan 300zx (Z32) at number 31, and we all know how much of an ugly piece of dog turd that is, so they obviously haven't got a scooby doo anyway!

Speak about your own!!

BTW, talking of Scoobies...I can't believe the Impreza is in there! LOL

Maybe have shed the weight, but it's an ugly fooker!

Yours is more like this...complete with spoiler too!

skinniest-thinest-girl-in-the-world-pictures.jpg

Now you either Googled "Anorexic homosexual speccy demonstrator on holiday in Thailand" to get that picture or you've got an intersting personal collection on your hard drive Si

judging by the car.......I'd say the latter :tt2:

As said the servicing costs are a killer, a chap i know bought a brand new modena kept it 1 year and said great car but keeping it on the road is a joke, and he is not short of a quid.

It's like one of the guys on an episode of 'The Garage' said, "It's just a big Fiat!"

just without the Fiat servicing price tag

A bit of a blase' statement for sure but he's got a point

There's a 355 parked up in Hereford at the mo; don't get me wrong it looks nice and I've heard it around town and it sounds sweet, but I still can't shake that image in my head of the knobber in 'The Fast and the Furious'

I'm sorry but the best ever Ferrari HAS to be the F40. It will never be beaten. Very VERY RARE.

It is a dumb statement. It's a bit like saying that the XJ220 is a big Austin Metro (well, irrespective of the 6R4's engine LOL)

Like you really should pay attention to a film as shit as that?

Like I said (reference the Fiat comment), it was a bit blase' and no doubt fuelled by a large eliment of jealousy on the mechanics part, however he does have a point

Technically Fiat do own Ferrari, whether Ferrari lovers/owners like it or not, in exactly the same way that VW built the Bugatti Veyron.

Nobody's suggesting that a VW Golf GTi is on par with a 268 mph Supercar; that would be rediculous, but the point made by the guy is exactly the same

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat

Fiat is the largest vehicle manufacturer in Italy, with a range of cars starting from small Fiat city cars to sports cars made by Ferrari, and vans and trucks ranging from the Ducato to Iveco commercial trucks. Besides Fiat Group Automobiles S.p.A, the Fiat Group automotive companies include Ferrari S.p.A., Iveco S.p.A. and Maserati S.p.A. The Fiat Group Automobiles S.p.A. companies include: Abarth & C. S.p.A., Alfa Romeo Automobiles S.p.A., Fiat Automobiles S.p.A., Fiat Professional and Lancia Automobiles S.p.A.. Ferrari S.p.A. is 85% owned by the Fiat Group.

The European Car of the Year award, Europe's premier automotive trophy for the past 40 years, has been awarded twelve times to the Fiat Group, more than any other manufacturer. Most recently the Fiat Nuova 500 has won the award for European Car of the Year 2008.

And as for film 'The Fast and the Furious', I'm not for one minute suggesting that I'm an avid supporter of the film

- the acting's crap

- the car designs are dated

- the brand advertising throughout is annoying as fook'

- the characters are pretty flimsy (though we've already established that they are based on real life characters)

however the fact remains that everytime I see a Ferrari at a set of traffic lights I can't help but think of 'that' scene and place the driver into that typical stereotype; rightly or wrongly, it doesn't matter.

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise...buy one.

These things are emotional decisions and you have to buy one from the heart. If I could afford it, I would always buy one over a Porsche or any other car.

People who buy Ferraris (those who can afford to!) have great taste and people appreciate it. It is the one car (inc. Lamborghini) that even those who are completely disinterested in cars will look at.
