What do you think will happen to the 300zx Z32 models in say, 20-30 years?

I can't picture them being such a special sought after car like the 240z for example, will prices go through the roof, will there be any left on the road, it does make you wonder! I have no plans at all to get rid of mine, but ultimately I want a decent SWB shell to reshell mine into, then it would be easier to fit in the garage lol

It's an era of Z car that was especially good. The 240 was a great car, but as time went on, the fun factor deminished. The Z32 brought that back, so, whilst the demand might not be like the 240 is today, I think there will be a strong demand for them. People always go 'I remember the 240' and 'I remember the 300zx'. No one seems to play much on the 260z, 280z, 280zx or Z31 300zx.

In the US, there is an almost cult following of the Z car. Z32s still hold their money pretty well compared to the UK. Z32TTs on average over there have lost about 2/3s their forecourt price whereas over here, they've lost between 1/4th and 1/5th

There were a lot less Z32s sold in the UK than 240s. BUT there was an influx of grey import cars when it came to the Z32. Z32s are no longer being shipped over from Japan in any quantity. The odd one or two appear and that's pretty much about it. A lot of tatty old UK and JDM cars are being broken for spares. Good ones are becoming hard to come by. If you check out pistonheads and autotrader, there are still few manual TTs coming up for sale. Most are autos. The TT manuals (being the most sought after) are still holding reasonable value. From about £3.5k up to about £5.5k which hasn't really changed in the 6 years of owning mine. Sure there are some bargains out there, ie non runners, out of tax/insurance etc. But I think prices for the TT Manual have remained steady. Autos and NA prices have gone through the floor though.

It is a car built when the Japanese economy was on a roll the likes of which the world has never seen before or since and therefore something pretty special IMO.

I've been thinking of selling mine (99, NA, lwb, auto) as I'm going back to college for a year but not sure what it's worth. I might be able to afford to hang onto it if I'm careful with money.

im going to hold on to mine for a long time and i hope that it should be worth something. its a black swb tt manual

my lwb auto is slowly being broken though

I think any TT manual will hold its money, just like the Skyline GTRs are holding their value pretty well.

Poor/run down examples and stuff with hideous bodykits/paint schemes are gradually disappearing. It's a phase that any car goes through I think from a mainstream manufacturer. Same went for a lot of the old classic Fords and to some extent, the Vauxhalls. Stuff like the MK2 Astra for instance. Never see them about, only the premium model is still loved (GTE16v) and all the boy racer shite with the bodykits and rusty death traps have all but disappeared and they've appreciated in value. Same goes for old RS stuff from Ford. I'm sure in another 5 - 10 years when all the scabby / chaved up Z32s have finally been putten to sleep, they'll become sought after a little more.

Hope mine would be worth something. but im not sure with the kit on it :(

Could always be reversed i surpose if it was worth it lol!!

Yours is subtle and pretty tasteful generally. I was talking about things like this --->

I bloody hope they go up in value! LOL After my last one which i bought for lots and sold for nothing, im hoping this one retains some value... although i keep spending more money on it :s

I'd like to think they begin to gain value as there isnt that many nice ones left these days. Certainly nothing like as many coming from japan!

We need Daz and Baz to break more up and stock pile all the parts for the future :lol:
