If you need any 'SERIOUS' advice then dont

hesitate to contact me as i have stripped my 92TT engine down to the block in situ From the plenum down the engine is similar to most V6 engines. If you want to find out if a trader has ever done the job ask him the significance of two 8mm bolts!

If he cant answer he`s never done the job so dont be fooled ! The cost of repair will be higher than the average car because there is more to remove & rebuild not in my opinion degree of difficulty. One further point if the car has been run with water in the oil for some time it may show wear on cam followers or lobes and that can be serious money which certainly blow the £1350 price out of the window so as Andy stated in the post above make sure all avenues are tried before deciding on the head removal.

My advice is first hand not as a trader but as someone who has worked on his own cars for

25yrs

Mike,

Would you recommend changing the head gaskets with the engine in the car or would it be easier to remove it first?
