Went out straight after work last night with my flatmates to watch the England match and ended up having a pretty large night. Got back to the flat around 3am to find it's been robbed!!

All the stuff is everywhere. Whole place was upside down. They didn't take the bigger items - tv, playstation, xbox, etx - but they did take laptops, cameras, ipods.....AND MY CAR KEYS!! Both sets too as they'd dug through all my drawers!

Luckily the car is garaged and I had the garage key on my but if not I reckon the car definitely would have been knicked too!! Thing is I now have to get the locks changed including ignition, etc....such a ball ache! Plus there's the risk of them coming back and trying to take it so have pulled a few fuses but still a little worried.

Worked out I've lost about £3k of stuff and the kicker.......I didn't have any insurance in place! My own fault....first thing I'm going to look into though now!

thats a shitter mate are you insured :(

Up side try and get a lock that has the titanium key

would it be an idea to pull the battery connections too, I thought they might try and find your car by using the remote and listen for the chirp of the alarm.

dont go to the garage for a few days, they may be watching it

they prob dont want the car, they are probably just trying to be akward

I have a really good key guy, he can make a key from a barrel then all you have to do is ask someone to reprogramme the alarm?

Thanks for the comments guys...still seething tbh!

Topless - that would be awesome mate. Do you have any contact details?

Car.Mad - Annoying as I had two sets of the titanium keys to start with and they've taken both!

Not sure how it works with the keys tbh....can I even get a replacement titanium key that will fit any new locks/ignition?? no idea how keys work...lol

Yea...that's what I'm thinking now Stella....such a bloody pain in the arse! Why do people have to do it? Disgusting.

scum mate, they take them to be akward, if they cant have it then why should you, thats the way they think

As long as you change the alarm code and the car is garaged I wouldn't worry about them coming back!

The lock guy operates out of a shop in wandsworth call Belton & Slade, he is the mutts nuts, he can even recut other keys to fit your locks.

Excellent, thanks mate. I presume I'd have to remove the ignition barrel (either existing or new) and take it down to him then?

Going to give my alarm guy a call tomorrow and see what can be done re changing the codes too.

Hopefully it won't be too much effort....:crying:

Yeah take the barrel down to him, I think the easiest to remove is the tailgate barrel.

There are valet keys as well, IIRC the only difference is in the grooves on the key and not in the cutting.

I don't have a tailgate barrel as it was delocked by the previous owner.

I'm going to get onto Jeff @ Zedworld and see if I can get some replacement locks, etc. Hopefully that'll work out and I can just take those down to the locksmith guy...

**what a muppet! lol...if i got replacement locks I shouldn't need the locksmith/keycutter! lol
