Complete and utter pointless willy waving chavy shite. :)

Would rather hand in my turbos than fit something that messed up the running of the engine.

I'm a Complete and utter pointless willy waving over opinionated shite. :)

 thats the beer talking anyway. my inner self always expresses itself after a few bevvies!

I agree with Si - pointless installing something that reduces performance! That bloody noise would drive me insane as well! :cursing:

i must admit i love the sound of turbos coming onto boost. the whistle is lovely. not as keen on the sneezing dump valve tho. i thought that a dump valve was supposed to allow the turbo to keep spinning and reduce compressor stall.....is there any info i can read on the pros and cons of dv v recircs

Yeah, research most of my posts on DVs.

Pros of DVs....silly noise...if you like that kinda thing.

Cons : Causes rich running and hesitation.

Conclusion: no car manufacturers have ever fitted dump valves to their own production vehicles and I've NEVER read of turbo damage caused by any type of compressor stall. The recirc valve should take care of this up to a certain point. Once you're past about 500bhp and running aftermarket engine management, then they have some sort of benefit. Fit them to a car with OEM management and you're basically messing up the fueling. Complete performance-hindering junk on most Z32s.

Mmm, interesting. Judging by the poll, most forum members would rather have their car running poorly and the noise of a Scania's airbrakes every time they changed gear rather than a good runner with no silly noise.

i like the noise, so fook if people think they are chavvy or whatever, i always remember as a kid listening to cossies with dump valves and thinking they sound great, im suer kids and other people still think the same, and if it gets you noticed and you like the noise then go for it

I always use to wonder if there was actually something wrong with the car whenever I used to hear them!

I used to like the noise my bike made when I pegged a playing card to the forks & it clicked in the spokes but I wouldnt do that anymore either!!:lol::lol:

Im no chav and think they sound cool on my zed, would not stick a set on my Porker though, would not suit the car. I think they are a natural accesory for any self respecting zed owner who wants to make it sound like they have a fast modified rice rocket, I think dump valves should be mandatory on any Jap performance cars!.

Not having a set on your zed just makes it look like you cant afford a set

They seem to be mandatory for rev-happy boyos in RSturbos down Maccys and other such dis-respective establishments. :)

Yours has standalone management though Martin and +stupidbhp...so it's something worthwhile. :)

I have dump valves and always have. I was going to change them back to stock, but when i got my car back i loved them.

But there not loud in any way. there just about noticeable so i will be keeping them.

I think

I have always liked the noise, got Blitz BOVs on hard pipes at the mo but they aren't particularly loud - saying that I haven't got round to blanking off the recircs yet so that may be why. Some sound better than others, I ammune its the make of dump valve rather than the application?
