I couldn't really afford a new loom... so...

many of my wires are now insulated with tinfoil wrap, one that sticks to mind is the dodgy wire replacement I did of the knock sensor right into the middle - and has worked ever since... thats the worst one to have to replace cause it such an arse to get to.

Couple of injectors would give you a wack of electricity due to broken bits of the insulation - these were wire replaced. Ensure that you make very smooth solder joints, even file down to ensure and cover with shiteloads of insulation tape. At the time, i couldn't find a decent price for replacement injector plugs but looking now seems there are more available.

Cable ties now hold on my injector plugs which had cracked and lost much of the casing. Never had a problem since.

I've also taken off the motor cover and the wiring is no longer so close to the engine.

Also, check to see if any of the coils are cracked - trust me when I say they give you a fair 'ol wack too... and also certainly give a misfire on the engine.

We took a brand new load of injector connectors off a loom to fit new ones for an 850cc setup. I might still have them ..let me have a look
