Interesting 300zx on Pistonheads. It is basically a TT engine and gearbox in an NA body with AC, emissions and HICAS removed (NA diff). So should be a bit lighter than standard. Do you lot reckon this is a good buy, or is it dodgy as it's basically an unfinished project car that got finished. Discuss?

The suprising thing is he's done an engine and gearbox swap, ditched the AC and emissions crap, but keeps the original ECU! Wtf?

Change it to what? absolutely no need to change the ECU at all for removing those items fella, makes no difference

I thought the ECU and chip were the same thing, though I've never experimented with chipping cars. So is he running the standard chip?

Well the chip is within the ECU and the chip can be easily upgraded for around 100 quid. However the only mods done are exhaust and intake, yes it would benefit a bit from a chip, it certainly isn't neccessary for the stuff the guy has removed, he's simply made things a bit tidier in the engine bay with less things to go wrong and none of it increases power.

Decent advert and not a bad price if as good in the flesh, nowt there i would be fussed about, so check it out if interested.

I am also considering zx-eyes gun metal grey car 300zx. Can I get opinions on which members think is the better buy. I reckon zx-eyes one is a little steep at 5k?

ZX Eyes car is one of the cleanest and nicest 300zx's I know... To be honest if I didnt have mine and I was looking id be going in there and giving him the cash.

Its far from a standard car. I would say its got at least £2500 worth of brakes and suspension bits, £1000 on the interior at the very least plus god knows what else.

Having seen it a few times in the flesh its simply stunning.

There is no contest at which I would go for, as long as your budget allows then zx eyes car is the bargain of the centuary. Put it this way, I wouldnt let mine go for as little as 5k! (6k at least if anyones looking.)
