ive got a few issued with my laptop, im running vista

 

 

1)when i want to switch it off it doesnt switch off i have to do it by holding the power button.

 

2) task manager wont come up even when i select it

 

3) 2 programs wont stop running

microsoft security essentials and windows defender both have been scanning for a few days lol

 

 

help!!! been running slightly slow too.

Microsoft Security Essentials is really good. It has had really high ratings and will Easily out do Norton (a complete pile of shit) or Kaspery. I normally never go with Microsoft products, but this one is really that good, uses no resources and a very small memory footprint.

sounds to me like you've got a major virus bud. have you tryed starting up in safe mode then running a full scan?

 

 

thanks guys tried safe mode still wont work, and task manager works there. still has issues turning the thing off.

There's your problem right there. I have a desktop, netbook and laptop. (well until my Desktop broke:( ). I'm running Vita on the laptop and from new had nothing but problems. Vista is a steaming pile of ......

 

I'd recommend wiping Vista and installing W7 as someone mentioned above. I'd personally like to install XP on mine but as it was factory Vista non of the hardware would work as they are all Vista engineered :(
