You will all be aware of the Free Prize Draw for 3 Seat Ibizas promoted by DVLA if you renew your tax disc on-line.

Does anyone ever win?

According to DVLA ' Details of prize winners will be provided at http://www.dvlaprizedraw.org '

Not on there! - just general info & no mention of any previous winners. There are also various posts on 'Tipsity' doubting the integrity of the competition.

Can anyone add any information? Either to confirm it is dubious at best or provide info on where winner details can be found.

Surely the DVLA as a government agency wouldn't run a 'Blue Peter' competition & expect to get away with it?

Why not, look at everything else they get up to !!

theyve been running that Seat draw for a couple of years at least - I remember seeing the leaflets when the reminder came through.

Is there anyone on here who works at DVLA or knows someone there so we can get a definitive answer?

ahem....try the email at the end

:)

The first three winners, who all used the Electronic Vehicle Licensing (EVL) service during June, were presented with their cars at the launch day of the annual Motor Show at Excel, London. The winners are Mr John Dixon from Cramlington in Newcastle, Mr Kevan Pulfrey from Sheffield, and Mr Archibald Bennie from Thurso in Scotland.

MP, Jim Fitzpatrick and SEAT President Erich Schmitt presented the winners with their cars.

MP Jim Fitzpatrick said: "It only takes four minutes to use DVLA’s electronic vehicle licensing service, and everyone gets automatically entered into the free prize draw. Vehicle taxing is something we all have to do, but now there is an extra incentive for doing it."

Kevan Pulfrey prize winner from Sheffield said: "I am delighted to have won a brand new car. I work for White Horse Green People, an environmental landscaping agency, where I help others reduce their impact on the environment. I am delighted that I now have a car with low emissions so that I can help the environment too."

To renew vehicle tax or SORN quickly and easily log onto: http://www.direct.gov.uk/taxdisc or phone 0870 850 4444 or textphone 0870 850 4445.

The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All applications processed between 5th June 2008 and 31st May 2009 will be automatically entered into the free prize draw to win a brand new SEAT Ibiza Ecomotive 1.4 TDI. There will be three winners per month.

Notes to Editors:

SEAT has provided the cars at no cost to DVLA or the taxpayer.

Thanks for that Uno- however I still smell a rat; that announcement was in July 2008! I can't find any details of subsequent winners
