A little smoke at cold startup.

Barely noticeable in all fairness and it cleared once the car was driven.

 

I think the oil level's a bit high, could that cause it?

sounds like valve stem seals leaking a tad...no problem really

Would have thought it'd've been evident on over-run too though.

 

If it was a turbo seal, when would that show up?

normaly under boost or when you you have canned it and come back down to idle.... And the seals iff just starting to harden get better when hot and lubed up...sounds like leak down over night which ive had on many cars in the past and seems not worth the $$$$ for a head tare down imho
