Hi I was trying to hook up my conzult today, but seem to be having problems with the connection. Red and green lights on the box on hte fly lead work as they should, but I get no reading on hte conzult screen. It read ECU not found in one field.

I am running this through a USB to serial convertor which I know usually works fine on my lappy. Do I need to change anything in the com port properties field ie. baud rate, x flow etc to make it work? Or is it not compatible with any USB convertor and I just have to find an old PC with a dedicated serial port?

cheers H

Sounds daft but is the lead fully pushed in on the usb side? I had a hell of a job getting mine to connect and it turned out I hadn't pushed the usb lead in fully! doh.

Would be worth speaking to Dan @ DTA that supplies Conzult - am sure there was some compatibility issues with some USB convertors

have you made sure that the serial port that the conzult is looking at is the same as the virtual serial port associated with the usb/serial adapter.

every time you use a different adapter or use the adapter in a different usb port it will increment the virtual serial port number

When I used your lead it did the same to me with the usb. Had to get an old lap top with a serial port.

You can pop over and use my laptop if needed.

Will double check that Ian, was hopingto get it working today, but it looks like I'll be giving Dan a call tomorrow.

How's the geabox issue?

Not touched the zed for weeks, trying to sort the house out before the other half goes back to work at the end of next month. Just finished the back of the garden living room next. I will get back to work on the zed soon, been waiting 2 weeks for a set of plugs that I bought of ebay (last time I buy anything of ebay.) Have been told a few things to try on the box before I scrap it. Hoping the end of July it will be running and with an MOT.
