headlight question,

i had a search and i know alot of people chrome the headlight inserts, but could they be painted any colour and still be legal?

 

i was just thinking of either spraying mine matt black as i don't like the faded grey look, or maybe red to match the rest of the car?

    Not sure about the legality but mine when though the MOT no prob painted sliver.

     

    I'd say (personal opinion only) as long as it didn't affect the beam patter it is OK.

    thanks was a stupid question really, but i know how picky some mot centres can be...

     

    might not matter anyway now, as i want rid of my 300zx so i can buy a 280ZX---i smell a v8 conversion...
