PS3 more powerfull, blueray player, free online gameplay, oh and GT5 PS3 exclusive (cough).

X360 more popular because cheaper but with monthly online charges, always hacked, regular bugs, crashes, RRODs. :ph34r:

ps3 can be used to store ya pics, can easliy up the memory, and can also be used as a digital free view box with a little device you can buy

as for games IMO the 360 hands down, forget GT5 it will be over hyped rubbish like prolouge,the last one and FFXIII, i had a ps3 on day 1 and sold it a year later due to all the exclusive games been pants. then got a slim last year and again it is now been sold. maybe for me its cause i have both consoles and the exclusive games that "should" intrest me dont (apart from uncharted 1 & 2 they are brill) and 9/10 the 360 version is better, but i think the tide might turn on this but the new xbox cant be too far away. so watch this space cause my ps3 slim is up for sale this weekend

had both, now just have the 360

on paper the ps3 but it promised so much for so long and still we are all waiting for gt5 years after we all got conned as it was supposed to come out with the ps3.....the 360 if you get the elite one delivers on everything its supposed to and has a lot more games under its belt.

 

the ps3 though especially if you want to hook up with the guys on here has more users forum wise and also doesnt cost you a yearly gold membership like the xbox and also has wireless built in and blu ray

 

on balance id still say the 360 but only because i feel let down by sony promises

PS3 - can upgrade the HDD without invalidating the warranty. Games tend to have marginally better graphics on the 360 though because its graphics hardware is better. something ive never really understood! :confused:

have both & xbox 360 wins for me...ps3 is a pain in the ass it updates every time u go to play a game & take ages,

 

xbox games are mostly 1080p as ps3 are only 720!!

 

xbox much easier to navigate around too ...i have no doubt that the ps3 is better built & will last longer but so is a toyota corrola but who wants one of those!!!

always had playstations,,,but ive a xbox now and everything about it is win ,win,win....its alot cheaper for starters,,,i know you pay for the 'live' experience,but it seems a hell of alot better.....forza 2 and 3.....if your a car mad racer these games are awesome.....will gran turismo ever be released?....if you want a bluray,then sure kill 2 birds with one stone,,but as a gaming experience i think the xbox edges it.....

just been reading in the paper today,,,,,if you buy the car game'blur' in tescos from today,you can get a 12 month live subscription for 19 quid.....

X Box all the way, with live subscription you get Sky through it free

(if you have sky) Plus chip it for 20 quid and Pay 2 quid a game.

100% xbox - mainly down to the controller differences for me, ps3 hand controller is far inferior to the xbox jobbie, so much nicer to use.

Sony PS3, any day...

 

Looks like everyone is giving the PS3 a kicking, so i'll champion its corner..

 

GT5 will be worth every minute's wait I guarantee you. Have you seen the car list on games forums? Its enough to make you weep. Some serious exotica in there and it will look good enough to eat. I just hope they bin those retarded time penalties that they have on prologue. Someone smashes into you and for some fooked up reason YOU get the freakin penalty - nice one, great achievement polyphoooony, wreck the hole gameplay why don't you...

 

Small rant aside, if you want the ultimate driving game, then GT5 will kick the crap outta any Xbox game, amputate its limbs, incinerate the remains, put them in a home made rocket and launch them into space. FACT

 

Its the only proper reason to buy one - and i've had enough problems with my old 40gig console. Now got a 250 slim and still stand by it as the ultimate console.

 

And, when BBC i-player licences other channels from Sky etc, they will all be available too, which will happen in the next 12 months. WITH NO MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION. Read it and weep XBOX 360

Sold ps3 after a year - miss the blueray tho

i have just bought my brothers ps3 its good online to play games but the xbox games are cheaper

not that much between them really if i had to buy anything id go for the 360 jut because of the game prices and availability

PS3 anyday. i had the Xbox and the controll pad etc was weired to hold. i never got use to it

PS3 or Natal would be a tougher choice, but PS3 otherwise.

Also my ps3 has broken after 37 months, but I once went through 4 360's in 2 years.

The Xbox is great for the selection of games, but it really tests my patience with the unreliabilty and monthly/annual subscription.

 

Out of my friends (and including me) that have 360's, every single one of us have had the RRoD. Some of them have had it 3 - 4 times. Terrible. Microsofts cure is to replace it with a refurbed unit, which will only last another 12 months if you're lucky.

 

Don't get me wrong, the 360 is a great piece of kit if you like your games, but if i have another one go wrong, i might just sell it all up.

The biggest issue is once you've bought all you games, drum kits, guitars, natal, joypads, wireless adaptor and HD Drive and payed your subscription to live.... The thing pack up and your left withover £200 worth of stuff you can't use. I went down the flashing route when it was just out and guess what? My console got banned (my brothers account lasted 3 years though).

between me and my family 6 of us we have had 6 broke xboxs and 2 ps3, the xbox is a pain in the @rse breaking every 5 min but MS replaced every single one for free, sony did want £150 to fix he ps3. i think sony have mess up this generation up, the ps3 is a great system but sony tried screwing everyone over and have now lost the market to nintendo (with a revamped gamecube).
