I seem to have a large bolt sticking out between the ancillary belt, has the alternator bolt worked loose?

Will i be able to just tighten it up, i gave it a wiggle and it seems pretty tight.

if its the long one that goes right through it as a type of wing nut on the back that locks itself in place,

you have to get under car to see where it comes out,

if it as worked loose i think i have a spare one you can have for free,

i have a look later and let you know,

mine came loose and fell off i drove around for ages without it but every couple of days had to loosen belt push it in and retighten belt,

Just had another look and looks like its coming from the power steering pump, the alternator is much lower down.

How it didnt mash the belts I don't know.

loosen the alternator belt and see if it taps in,

does look like the bolt for the alternator if i remember rightly its at the top of the alternator,

so the bolt would be above the alternator,

Yes I think your right Terry, looks like the top bolt. Will pop to the garage tomorrow and let them have a look.

Ya nuts dropped off bud :sweatdrop:, mine did the same , a right pain to hold a nut in place while somebody turns the bolt .

Manage to sort it, mechanic did say it was a pain to get a nut on the end. Touch wood it should be fine now.

Thanks for the offer Terry.
