white smoke from exhaust

im getting a bit of white smoke form the drivers side exhaust it only seems to happen when the car is idling its very a now and then thing but when it does do it the idle goes lumpy i noticed that today, its left a soot deposit on the exhaust, i 1st thought oil seal on turbo but after talking to old owner he suggested changing pcv valves 1st theres no smoke when the turbo's are boosting so now just looking for any more opinions . thanks in advance for any help

did you aske why he sold it if its just the pcvs? sorry early stages of oil seals.quiet poss.

PCVs give you blue smoke. If it's white or grey it's not PCV related. As above, sounds terminal.

ah didnt know it was blue for pcv's saves changing them. guess its looking the turbo's then :thumbdown:
