Hi guys,

I am thinking of changing the centre section (spokes) from silver to black, leaving the bolts silver and the outer dish as it is...

Wheels are due a refurb just not sure which way to go.

This pic, wheel wise etc is what I was hoping to achieve. T bar sections are being painted black, along with wing mirrors....

What do you think leave it alone or go for it?

NO! Have the centres powdercoated in a shadow chrome. A much more flattering colour/finish. Black is drab IMO.

Some examples of shadow chrome.

Don't do them black mate. I think they look spot on how they are. Tho if u want dark I would go for what si said or charcoal or something.

Thanks Si, had forgotten all about shadow chrome.

Nearly had a set of wheels done for my TVR this colour a few years ago.....hmmnn decisions decisions.

Just think that the silver looks a bit "dated" somehow, or should I say a bit to "contemporary" for a Zed.

I think silver always looks clean, fresh and sharp. You could have the centres machined?diamond cut, that would look pretty cool.

You've pictured two completely different styles of car there. Black with polished lip looks real good on 'edgier' cars depending on body colour (blue, purple, red, yellow etc.), but your car is far too smooth to pull it off I'm afraid, silver seems to have hit the spot nicely and I wouldn't venture far from it. Also bear in mind that black often creates the illusion of a smaller diameter wheel, and as it stands your wheels are pushing it as it is and wouldn't want to look any smaller (unless the car was lowered to suit). Thats my opinion anyways :)

I'd probably leave them as they are too. I'd just get the dummy vents filled in. :)

yes don't care much for the vents either, but a respray is further down the list of mods as yet.

Although I am considering wrapping the Zed until I can do the respray.

Plenty of standard solid colours to choose from, there is even a colour red that a very good match to the original Nissan red.

Oh good God! :hurl:

You can't be serious! That matt black Merc especially is awful. If you do go down that route, I've got a set of chalks and a board wiper if you need them.

Yes, I know what you mean about the "looks" 2 different look for sure. Wheels are 18's and already lowered -30 front -40mm rear will not go much lower as I already have "issues"coukld go with further arch work I suppose.

easy Si lol, they are the only pictures I could find quickly of the wrapping, form the company who we buy our material from. If i went down that route it would be a "sensible" solid colour like red.
