im runing my tt at 14psi boost, some times i think it spikes and goes up to 15psi then goes in to safty boost mode. could this be because it is not geting enough fuel? so my question is will bigger injectors cure this? any help is much appericated

I guess you're running boost jets? Get an Electronic boost controller and set it to 14PSi. You'll find you won't have the problem. It'll be a cheaper alternative than having to buy new injectors and a new chip just to be able to avoid boost spikes.

I believe max boost is 14.5PSi on stock injectors.

yep afraid so, i think i will have to get an ebc i was just being lazy as i like to do all my own work and not to keen on electronics.

Nope, 1 solenoid. Just need to fit a t-peice.

Personally, I prefer the old-skool type of boost controllers as they are more discreet. Don't like the dash full of clutter!

All depends on what you want. Plenty out there.

it shouldn't be a problem to spike up to 15 on stock as long as after that it's pulling at about 14.5 or so - mine were the same when i was running jets and stock injectors. i dont like the sound of it going into safety boost afterward though - might it be running lean and the ECU going into safety...? mine didn't have a problem, but then again my det sensor had melted... :o

had a look about and quite like the aem 30-4350, il report back when i have one fitted hopefuly it will all be sorted out, thanks si

I used to run mine on boost jets - would peak at 16psi & drop to around 14psi - never had a det problem or dropping into safety boost.

Also check your base timing to ensure this is correct & not too far advanced

If you are going into safety boost then it means that your det sensor is picking up detonation, you have to cure any problem before fitting an ebc.

youll need a low restriction exhaust, air intake, ecu and high boost to see that figure.. I'd be tempted to lob some GTiR or S15 tub's on there along with the above if you are aiming for 100bhp more

edit - a chip will make naff all difference. I have a Dixon ECU and it makes negligable difference, it should (in theory) just mean the fuelling will be set to run higher boost than stock "safely".

what will be causing the det if that is what it is/? allso how can it is it fixed? its runing a impul ecu would it be worth changing the chip to one from some one like john?

You've answered your own question! Get in touch with either JeffTT, Danny@DTA, John Dixon or AndyP for a replacement chip/installation of chip carrier.

That chip in there will be designed for Japanese fuel.

ALWAYS ALWAYS replace any JDM/Unknown chip before doing any boost upgrades!
