HI All,

I'm gonna need some front brake pads for my Z. J-spec N/A Auto, 1995.

Anyone know how much they are and where to go for the best deals?

Quick fit advised they were getting low (which i already knew) and quoted £86 based on the UK pads (lifetime guarantee apparently). I think this is way too high so thought i'd ask on here :)

I thought N/a pads and discs were hard to get hold of. They are different to the TT spec i believe (UK) Might be wrong.

I know people have change to TT calipers because of this.

yep, they are a diff size bud, ds2500's are great pads, but squeel like hell and you will be cleaning your rims every day

I thought the discs were slimmer 28mm na and 32mm TT i think??

Not sure on the pads lol!!

Don't squeal much if you break them in properly bud.

Cheapest, mintex about £23 from ebay or one of our traders, but they leave alot of brake dust and dont tend to last as long as more expensive pads, especially on an auto.

Im on my second set of mintex in less than a year and now my discs need changing again.

what's the next best to that lol. a decent pad that won't cost the earth ?

I can supply Stillen (Mintex) or Porterfield brake pads (£80 and £75 respectively). These are shipped prices. Unfortuantely, neither are currently in stock but should be available in about 7~10 days.

Both of the above pads are excellent street pads and will take some track abuse without fading. However, if you do a lot of track days then I recommend Ferodo DS2500 pads (£129.50) but these (a) produce a lot of dust and squeel and (b) eat through discs at an alarming pace so not really conducive to normal daily street use.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Regards,

Dan

PS - be aware that the QuickFit (et al) "life time guarantee" does not apply to normal brake pad wear ... only to manufacturer defects ...
