I think you have taken stellas comments out of context, we all know there are many nationalities in this country who contribute greatly to business and society, there is of course the minority faction, but that applies to all of us, the case of illegal immigrants is a government mistake, being too soft. We tolerate far too much in Britain and its crippled the country.

Ive been to many places in the world, Dubai, Pakistan, Beruit, Greenland and most of Europe and there is no way on earth in some of those countries you would get away half of whats allowed to happen here.

Im not going to say any more on the subject as this is not the place and i dont want to start anything that could be misconstrued.

Lets just say they were both wrong in their actions.....

Thank you, i love you all :winkiss:

I can't believe some of you are so dumb that you can't see the truth of the issue that violence is not the answer to anything. And it's comments like that, Sir Charles, that escalate situations like that needlessly.

Right if this thread starts to go the way i think it is, its getting closed, so please, no nastiness

Nothing was taken out of context, groover. I appreciate you're trying to cool down the discussion, as a mod, but so far we've not crossed any lines. Let's hope it continues that way and that we don't have to have the thread closed for us.

Violence is never the answer as there's always someone with a bigger gun so to speak, these young lads were riled by a BNP candidate in there area, he was doing no wrong in spreading his views, after all its a free country. They chose to get aggressive rather than walk on.

I want to keep it open, its good to have a discussion, but it needs to stay friendly.

Everyone will have an opinion that differs from others and some will be venting their feelings.

But it cannot turn into anything more, we will not tolerate racism or condone violence, especially amongst our members.

Exactly - walk on.

But...

the law is very picky about what you can and can't say when you spread your views and the manner in which you do it. I bet you any magistrate watching that exact clip would give it 50/50 at best and if pushed for an answer, go slightly against the BNP. Rightly so, imho.

If you spit on someone you need a slap or two.down right dirty and think of the germs that you can catch.

I agree, rightly so, the BNP candidate is supposedly representing a party wanting to run the country, so he should know better and have self control

Let me try something.....

How many people who think it's OK to slap someone for being spat on are under 30?

You say violence/retaliation isn't the answer - so how are these people ever going to get the message? We have all seen what happened to the 'hug a hoodie' approach, and Cameron on his pushbike.

I'm well over 30 and would not tollerate any hooded chav spitting on me, hell my mum once slapped a young lad who spat on her shoes because she was trying to walk down the pavement and he and his mates would not move their bikes, she was around 55 at the time.

Be fair, how many people that would spit on someone is under 30?

I think you misunderstood. I'd imagine that most people likely to spit are under 30 - the point being that younger people are more liable to use/justify violence to "solve a problem" than older people who've matured.

Going by the young lads in that video i fully agree.

Are you aware that you saying "How are these people ever going to get the message?" says more about you than it does about "them".

So I assume you are totally against the War on terror then?

I dont think violence is the answer, unfortunately Britain's softly softly approach on younger society has not instilled any deterrent or common sense.

It stems back to schooling where no punishment is allowed, parent not allowed to smack their child, i could go on and on, you know where im going with this.

We need to be allowed to be more firm with the kids as they are growing up to prevent such behavior in later life. Unfortunately its too late with this generation coming up

I fear you're right. And it's our generation (30-40 year olds) that have let it happen.
