I tried to build a 944 with a 968 conversion about 7 years ago i removed all the 944 front end and fitted glass fibre 968 panels. The quality was of the panels was pants nothing lined up properly it was complete crap.I lost interest and gave the car away as i not enough room for that and the z31 id just inherited. The 944 was a really good car though, drove it every day for 2 or 3 years with no problems.

Same here only well only two issue while i owned it.

(1) The drivers side wiper just all of a sudden one night went slack and stopped on the screen, easy fix a day or so later at a garage, Porsche wanted to order the whole set up though!!

(2) While doing a job on the car the old garage i used found a split in an auto pipe near the pot (at the rear i think?) again Porsche wanted to order the whole pipe kit costing a fortune, but we found a supplier that made the same size and spec pipes for a company i would not have even thought about, and got it sorted for much less :thumbup1:

Chris :)

Ps get some lovely stuff on that site ! There was a 928 police car up for grabs recently !!!

Looked at 928's before buying the Zed last year. Very nice motors, far more interesting than the 911s IMO. As I am sure you are aware they are if not more complicated on the electrical side of things than the Zed. Although there is slightly more room in the engine bay to get things done yourself.

I still have a book "The Essential Buyers Guide Porsche 928" by David Hemmings in excellent condition.(See Amazon) Yours for a few beer tokens if you like?

Great resource, and worth calling this guy Paul, if you end up looking for one. What he doesn't know about 928's isn't worth knowing. He may even know of a customer thats looking to sell.

Just be prepared for bigger bills than the Zed if it goes wrong. Or as an owner said to me if you're going into 928 ownership it's best to buy 2 so you have 1 for spares!
