May need a top up on my '97 NA

 

Any suggestions on best oil to use :scared:

do a search buddy, many threads on it, i think alot of people use mobil1 semi synthetic 10w50... i'm still deciding myself, still got running in oil in after the re-build....

If its topping up more than a change i'd go for a 10w/40 semi synthetic, on your next full change though you could consider other grades

If its a top up you should use the same oil that is already in it.

I've always used Magnatec semi synthetic on all my cars as a rule. However, i have recently put Royal Purple oil in my last Firebird.

If you don't know what's in there already then just top it up with something like Castrol Magnatec 10w40 as you have an NA.......

 

.....for a TT then I'd buy a litre of any decent fully synthetic 5w40.

 

Modern oils, both semi and fully synthetic, will mix with whatever is in the sump already. Providing it is within the recommended viscocity limits in the hand-book!
