as i'm still wet around there ears on here still need a little advice... In the process of changing all the rear brake lines i've managed to break (what looks to have already been week) one of the feeds on the diff oil cooler, a friend who has 2 x 200sx's (so i dont believe the little swine) says they never work an to remove it is he just saying that as hes jealous he doesent have one... so 2 questions

 

1 does anyone on here have an oil cooler for sale??

 

2 can the oil cooler be removed without harming the diff?? As i'm a firm believer in things were fitted fo a reason.. or are my worries confounded an it'll be fine???

Can't be much help at moment (phone at work) but if you look in the online manual ( search this forum for link) the operating temperatures are in there and your m8 is more or less right. I've got a oil cooler on a spare uk diff in garage and don't feel the need to change it to my jap one

The pipes breaking is very, very common, do not worry at all about replacing it just link it out with rubber pipe.

 

Never seen a diff cooler that actually works on a 300zx, they are always dry when you undo them, (or break them )

Agreed, when I took mine off there where only a few tablespoons of oil present.

I'll be ditching my oil cooler when I replace my rear sub and diff.

And the Jap spec cars weren't fitted with a diff cooler, that was just a UK spec thing.... that should answer your question. Bin it.

ok guys cheers for the advice considder it binned... should i now link the pipes or blank them off.. i'm guessing link them????
