Really sorry to hear this mate, you must be gutted!!!, Thing is as the security on most cars has improved over the years, so this is now the easiest option as in to get the keys

as regards the immobiliser these are not expensive to buy as a stand alone unit but if you want it to be insurance approved you will need a qualified technicians installation certificate

You can try Nissan, they may be able to give you a copy of your key but I wouldn't hold you're breath. Another option is to buy a s/h ign barrel and key set and replace the barrel (not as scary as it sounds!) I'm sure one of the club's traders would be able to sort you out a set.

take the number to a locksmith they should be able to make a new key if in their programmes on there computer might need to take documents to prove you own the car but not sure hopefully will help

fairly sure the number on the ignition barrel is not what you need, for a UK car look for a small white sticker in the glove box

once youve got the number, buy a blank key on ebay and go to a locksmith

If they stole your Z keys, then why do you want your keys copied? Get replacement (used) locks and get them ASAP!

yeah getting a key replaced would be silly as the thiefs have a key! you need to change the locks on the zed, house, and the scooby, i know this may be more expensive than just getting a copy key but it will be even more expensive when you come home one day and your zed is gone!

check your insurance on theft with key, as I'm sure you wont be covered, best to just change the barrel an door locks on both cars and the house

i still wouldn't bother about getting new keys cut, ask in the wanted section about new locks and ignition barrel for a new set, someone breaking might be able to help before it gets sent off to the scrappers.

Dude, a set of second hand locks won't cost the earth. I can't believe you're still contemplating it. They have your key!!

If you did want new Keys cut, Nissan will probably do them from either the Reg or the VIN number (you will need to take the V5 to nissan when you go to get the keys). It's not cheap though.

I had to do this to get a key for a Honda Prelude i had as i was given only the Valet key when i bought it.

ย

If you do get another key cut, i'd also do something simple like put an engine immobiliser dead switch somewhere only you will know where. that'll be much cheaper than an imobiliser and just as effective if you do it right.
