ok until i next get the engine out i will resort to using others advice and getting some hammerite spray and APC cleaner and doing it satin black............. hopefully will go with the polished plenum and the blue silicone that matches the cars body colour

So would you say these two are what I need? Alsi should I get two cans of the former?

Wiping old lady's bums?

yeah i am planning to get to management in care as i always like to care for people, so why not get a career in it...........(and my wife works there.... ho ho ho)

its extra care so its not as full on as normal caring and would very rarely need to do wiping of bums and........... elsewhere. But the will be a time when i need to do it, but i have no problem with it :)

once i fo my NVQ 2 - 4 then i will do management which is less on the caring side.... but hey ho.... we all have to start somewhere in life.

my wife had to do it and she is a Service manager for local government on an extremely good wage and manages most of the managers and 900 staff across all of essex............. im just unfortunate that if i want my car.... the deal is i use my earned money :) fair do's

she did treat me to gearbox conversion and stuff here and there :punk:

but yeah generally i go into someones house (with their permission ofcourse) read their care plan and carry it out.

Part time work but same wage as my full time job im about to leave :punk:

this means i only work 3 or 4 days some weeks and have the rest of the time on my car .... bring it on!!!

Wow! Well done, more of a man than I. I couldn't do that. Certainly not have the patience or stomach to! Good luck with the study! You'll get there if you want it badly enough.

On a light hearted note, tell me some funny stories......you ever had one fart in your face whilst wiping? :wack:

well ive only been out twice with supervisor in my spare time. i officially start on the 14th of may when my training has finsihed..

manual handling etc.... my wife said i would actually be taught how to wash a womens/men stink hole and parts

i'm sure i will have some stories to tell after that though :scooter: obviously i would have to limit all the details to protect the person but im sure some strange and funny stuff will happen..

the only thing im nervous about is walking in to find dead bodies :( and apparently there is one poor old man who sufferes dementia but chases you out of his home with his walking stick O.o

i think im going to grow up a bit in this role but its all a learning experience and as its not where i live in chelmsford it means i will have my first commuting job

Teepee for my bung hole!

Finding a corpse would be pretty harrowing, but I guess it's something you're going to have to brace yourself for as it will inevitably happen if you're working in an old peoples' home.

Enhanced CRB went in novermber though and only just came back lol

but it is there for a reason and luckily lasts 5 years.......... always nice to know you have nothing on your record when the disclosure comes through. especially when your in with the wrong group as a team... always wondered if i got records lol..

nice and rewarding to know im a clean man :p

Your misses pressure wash your back passage then? Showing you how it's done? :wack:

I use to work for the Ministry of Defence about 6 years ago. I had to go through a full family search plus security check and to sign my life away to the official secrets act! Took them 3 months!

luckily its a residential estate as opposed to a care home.... they have their own properties and are promoted and provided with tools to live independantly.

i worked for Essex supporting people which are Commisioners and handle the government grant for independant living so i have always believed in it and it is my ethos..

hence why i would like this job as im not working in a care home where they dont get choice. i am entering a home just as normal as anybody elses.

i have to prompt then to take medicine and encourage them to make their breakfast/luch dinner (depending on shift) and encourage them to get out of bed and offer emotional support. they have the choice whether to do it or not :)

i like it this way as i always fear of myself or my nan ending up in these normal care homes.

generally im just helping them live theyre lives they want to and help put in place programs to keep their independance

i will have to leanr to be persuasive i guess

i use to know a guy called james who claimed he worked for the ministry of defense but he always said he could never discuss his job with us.

then the other stuff came out like......... "i get given a credit card with an allowance" i am constantly flying away to other countries"

which is all fair enough but he was 21 and claimed he owned a Zonda super car.......... then it got less believable :)

could of been a misture of both truth and lies but who knows :)

apart from that ive never met many MOD personell... but then i guess i wouldnt of known??? :tt2:

Sounds like a trickster/James Bond wannabe! I worked up at the site in Malvern carrying out radar research. Was good fun as we often flew sorties over Salisbury Plain in an old converted BAC-111 stuffed full of radar gear. Nothing glamorous, but it was very interesting. Got plenty of holiday. Some 30 days + bank holidays/privilage days.

My cousin works for GCHQ in Cheltenham and no one even knows what he does. It's all TS stuff.

My mum used to be a care worker and one of her workbuddies actually had an old man die on her....literally he had a heart attack and fell on her and she was trapped with a 15+stone dead man on her! all joking aside tho my mum has told me some horrible stories about care work and she would rather not be alive at that age than live like some of these poor elderly people do.

I bet! There must be a point where it's degrading for them. If I ever get to the stage where I can't change my own clothes or go to the toilet by myself, I'll want to end it all.
