Where's the oil leaking from?

Various areas mate, hoses mainly but also front crank shaft oil seal which has got onto pulleys and launched itself up to the top of engine making my inital thoughts it was from the plenum:crying:

But all good i guess.....will clean engine and bay over the weekend whilst waiting for the parts to arrive and hopefully sort the lot:thumbup:

It is slightly unusual for the front crank seal to go, I would maybe check the pcv system and upgrade to the one on tt.net, what are the other hoses leaking, turbo oil feeds or the oil cooler?

Yep both of these are leaking, is it worth using jubilee clips rather than the oe clips?

You can't clearly see the belts here but you can see the Brake servo hose top left of the plenum.

Loads of other pictures of your engine etc in these threads.

Thanks Stu can you tell me if the clutch is matched to flywheel!! i can see clutch cover been balanced, and speaking to mike feeney he asked me to ask if it was matched.

I hope not new clutch and fly will set me back nearly 1k:crying::crying:

I know for sure the crank, pulley and flywheel where balanced at the time of the rebore.

Whether they also balanced the clutch at the same time I'm not sure. If you say the lutch cover has also been balance then there is a possiblity that the clutch has beed done to match the flywheel etc.

I think this is one of the reaosn the car felt so quick, everything was lightened and balanced.

Sorry to be a bit ignorant but will a new clutch kit work ok with the flywheel and/or will it need to be balanced to??

It should work without balancing, you could get a little vibration through the pedal or the car itself. But I can't imagine it would be that drastic. I'd just go with the clutch as the flywheel you can on there should cater for your power.

Balancing is high level fine tuning. Most people don't bother balancing and just bolt stuff on. Anyone can sing a song, but few are in tune ;)

Turbo oil feeds are banjo fittings, the oil cooler clips are better than jubilee clips but if they are rusty they are usually kaputt !

you should be fine fitting a new clutch and pressure plate straight on they are balanced anyway and has been said the crank and flywheel already have, if any vibration which i doubt would be minimal and not noticed when driving
