I am lucky enough to have a spare VG30DETT in the garage, me and my mate were discussing sticking it in a classic car. I've got the engine crossmember, mounts, loom, ecu, etc etc, what would be a good car for it do you think?

I originally planned to keep it as a spare and get it uprated and rebuilt for mine, but I also like the idea of a one-off project car. Purely speculation at the mo, but open to any ideas flying around?

looks like a Cortina!! crap :clown: z31

It also looks like it could be powerful in it's own right. Lilke a lexus soarer is to a Supra.

You need to get something that looks REALLY crappy IMO.

I remember my old history teacher had a crazy idea about putting a really powerful engine in his rusty old VW beetle.

a VG in a westfield would take it from 700kg to about 1500kg LOL

unless I pitch in somewhere a bit newer - 200sx s13, sunny (pulsar) RNN14, etc? but would really like something a bit special so that would generally point at a classic model.

I've done the 200sx vg30dett so keep looking

I have had thoughts along the same lines but I think it needs to be proper retro

how about a mk1 or mk2 MR2??

Camry v6 fits in those and has been done loads

This is cooooool Baz:drool:

A Sil80. S13 180sx with Silvia frontend.

Had a friend with a VG30DETT fitted in one, but utilising the Inlet and exhaust manifolds from the VG30DET to run a massive single turbo setup.

Not exactly a classic though lol

Man thats one tight set up, fair play:w00t:

Haha true true.

I do like that 260c coupe! How about an E34 5 Series, very elegant car and would certainly fit the sleeper look!

I dont think the E34 would suit the sleeper look at all. They came with Plenty of powerfull engine options. My old 535i Sport had 210bhp, and would easily keep with a NA Z, while the 540i V8 had 290hp, the M5 had 315bhp and is an amazing engine, and the rare and rediculous quick Alpina B10 bi-turbo had 360bhp.

People expect Bmw's to be quick.
