does TT discs (front and rear) fit the N/A, im sure it does but thought id ask you zed guru's.. :arabia:

Front discs will fit the N/A, early 1990 will need the TT calipers as the disc was thinner. Onwards will be fine and the rear discs are the same for both.

Rears are the same for both models, all years.

ย

As for the fronts :

ย

All TT's and 91onward NA's use the same Brake setup with a 280mmx28mm Disc.

ย

89-91 NA's use a Narrower 26mm Disc, and caliper to suit.

ย

There can be some crossover between years and confusion over manufacturing dates, so the best way to confirm is to measure the disc diameter with a Digial Caliper.

As mentioned, It's best to measure the width of the discs you already have up front. My N/A is in the crossover (April 92) and it still has the 26mm discs, so TT discs wouldn't fit.

TT discs would fit lol, its the calipers that would need changing.

ย

So to clarify, TT discs will fit the wheel hub of an N/A regardless of series or year.

As in Legrath's post, the thinner discs on the earlier series also have the smaller calipers, (not physical size) distance inside the caliper.

My N/A says '93 on the plate, but its actually a '90, mine had the 26mm discs and calipers on, at the time they were a nightmare to get hold of, so i changed to TT discs and calipers, mainly for ease of parts in the future.

True, TT discs will fit, if you fancy changing the calipers as well. If you want 26mm discs though, MJP rules .

Was your car mis-registered as a 93 then?

I think it was well and truly bodged up. It has 2004 on the log book and thats not import date either, 1993 K plate issued and 1990 stamped on all the interior parts that state date of manufacture. I think i might chance my arm on a private plate with a newer reg indication and see what said at DVLA lol

thanks guys, i'll just have to try it then as ive had the discs for a few months now which i intended to fit but never got round to it, sold the tt and the n/a brakes are crap so will have to suck it and see!!

ย

my car is 92 registered i think but like some of you say you cant rely that to be its true age because of it being imported.

has the logbook come through yet? it says on that 91 registered.

Adding TT discs and calipers wont make alot of difference to the braking performance, just easier to get parts
