have a go at disconnecting the TPS plug (not the one directly on it but, the one on the fly lead) for 15 seconds, then reconnect. see if that works :)

Just treid that revs rise too about 2000 rpm when unpluged then go back to the same 1500 rpm when pluged back in .Cleaned all plugs idle control valve ecu temp sensor unscrewed idle screw sprayed wd40 in there .I did notice the idle scew is all the way in .Treid adjusting idle with yellow plug out and it will only speed up the idle not slow it down .I took the idle control valve appaet last year and cleaned it maybe it needs a new one.Seems funny it was fine before i thrashed it.

temp sensor (ecu one) has been known to get blown off by the fan at high rpm if it has a faulty clip..check simple things 1st before you start changing idle speeds bud or you'll be chasing your tail

Most likely the fast idle valve has either come disconnected or is stuck open, check the connection if ok try tapping the unit with the engine ticking over, bet the revs will drop down when you do it, if so needs a clean out or replacement.

thanks will take idle control valve appart tommorow and clean just wondered why my idle screw is so far in been told they should be about half way.

Ok as you having the problem occasionally I would definately check the fast idle valve as mentioned but also said check the tps connection too.

Have not got an actual picture to hand but just behind the balancer bar (number 30 in the picture)
