As I'm gunna be pulling the engine to fit different turbos is there any benifit to changing the manafold while I'm there to a stainless steal one? I know about gain in airflow, or does the oem one do a good enough job?

Also been back under the car, when I shake my back boxes I can here loads of Water sloshing about, was going to take them off and empty them to see if my car still smokes after. but looks like I'm going to be angle grinding it off, not even sure I can save the elbows, what are devorced elbows? And what's the benifit?

Sorry for the questions but im more a stock man than uprated parts specialist

there are benifits in tubular SS manifolds but, unless you are going for very heavy mods, you may as well stick with the log type. there are some good makes out there that do excellent log type manifolds. what turbos are you fitting? if they are just recon'd stock tubs then the OEM manifolds will be fine. saying that, it's all down to your own personal prefurance though.

divorced elbows have two pipes that come from the turbo, one for the turbine vein and the other for the waste gate, these then join further down. they aid in exhaust flow, stopping turbulance when the waste gate is being used. they are a good mod and i recomend them if you're going to have an after market exhaust system.

Thanks bud, yeah going to be fitting stock tubs again, while I decide whether to go for uprated turbos or just recon the ones ive got, think I'll go for the tubular manafolds as it saves me doing them later and on the plus side I can be safe in the knowledge that I won't have a gasket leak at the manafold at a later date. I'll have a look into getting some devorced elbow as well, as I'll be going for a x decat stainless steal system, just wish there was a way of emptying my back boxes of water, that doesnt involve me going for a long drive with no tax and mot.

Tubular manifolds WILL almost certainly crack after a while.Thats why Mike Smith and AMS made cast alternatives.

bloody good point that Jimmer:yes:

My Pentroof manifolds have not cracked after years in use. OEMs are working up to 450-500 horses, then they get too tight. So it depends what you want out of your engine. Don`t change them just to for the change`s sake. OEMs are very good an will last nearly forever, but there are limitations......:scooter:

mmmmmmm tubular......

This is soooooooooo nice. A beauty, a masterpiece. You made them yourself Silverbullet?

What`s the specs on this engine, and the power?

You must have removed your front wheels to get place for this, or??:clap::clap:

Strange name "Escort Service", first I thought of a Ford, then a sex shop.....

But it`s a really beauty, and less expensive that Pentroof too.

Have you installed them on your car? :hang:

noooo, i've got Mike Smith logs on mine. would love a set of pipes like those though.

would take alot of rework for the oil tree, PAS pump and alternator but, if i had the time and money, would be worth the challange :)
