Right, got a little problem my front tyres are wearing heavily on the inside edge. The car is lowered on springs with stock shocks. Apart from that its on standard suspension.

What do I need to fix the problem? :) I think its down to the lowering, and I assume its adjustable top arms?? I really dont have much of a clue with suspension to be honest! The rears are fine and dandy, just the fronts are quite bad. I think its whats contributing to its slight occasional nervousness on the front end!

Help thank you please :)

Im sure mine were doing the same but i had one track rod that needed doing and it was only that tyre that was wearing on the inside edge.

I just noticed mine yesterday, they are very bad on the insides, so much so that I'm getting new tyres today, as far as I know my suspension is standard but the wheels are 18" would this alone cause the excessive wear? Obviously I don't want to these to go the same route.

Aye will try and book it in for tracking asap. Do I need anything along with adjustable top arms or can i just buy those and have them fitted and the problem will go away??

As with anything adjustable first thing to do is get taken somewhere that can set everything up properly, you will need to set everything back to stock with the adjustments then get it changed to suit your ride hight and driving style, but with inside tyre ware I'd say tracking first then camber

It might be worth getting adjustable front tension rods as well as the top camber arms that way a good specialist should be able to set it up right!

Yes, in fact its very important to fit Adjustable tension rods with solid spherical ball joints when fitting adjustable camber arms.

All of the main manufactures put this as a requirement when fitting adjustable camber arms with sealed bearings.

Just been having a look around, the products advertised by Z centre, are they the same as the products advertised on ebay?

Obviously not the same as the powertrix and SPL items on smithys place although the price difference is startling!

I need to do my tension rods anyway so might as well do it at the same time!

Give Jerrick a call @ http://www.meisterr.com he sells them as well for the Zed, I fitted them to my car recently very good quality and service, competitive as well.

That website is only advertising coilovers as far as I can see. Or do they do other stuff if I call them?

yes they supply all suspension parts for the 300zx, give Jerrick a call or email him.

tired stock suspension thats sitting a bit lower will give thee same effect

It is possible, i've had the car 8 years and don't know when it was changed if ever it was, seems ok though no excessive rebound or anything, it does look lower than stock I must admit.

the springs may have sagged a fair bit. i seem to recall yours has 18s on? i also recall it didnt look silly high, ride height wise, so i would say that's your problem. if you had brand new stock suspension on 18s it would look like a freelander 1.8 deisel with rubber mats and a dog guard! with sagging springs its effectively lowered so you will suffer from inside edge tyre wear until you correct the camber.

I do like the current height see recent pic, would new lowering springs and adjustable upper arms be the way forward? Wouldnt want it sitting any higher like you say it would have that off road look.

if your happy with the way it feels, drives, handles etc save ya money and just correct the camber. lowered springs, even with matching ride height will prolly feel quite a bit stiffer than your current setup, although it should perform better. however, if you fit brand new eibach springs with new shocks, your ride height will go up!

i know as thats what i did! brand new kyb agx and eibachs... i gave it a fe 1000 miles to settle but it still looked silly (alot higher than the tired stock setup i replaced it with) i have some pics somewhere... in the end, after a fair bit of research for the best ride height to comfort compromise, i decided to get some avo chasis dynamic springs from danny.

Well it doesnt wallow about and it rides fairly firm but not bone shatteringly so, I wouldnt want it any harder for a daily driver. I will get it tracked with some new track rod ends they are about ready for replacing anyway, and then look into the camber.

Cheers for the advice.
