ok this is a real head scratcher my car has stopped running i have done all my checks and cleaned everything i have just checked my ecu and im getting a code 55 which means there isnt anything wrong with the car yet she is still not running ahhhhhhh help anyone before i explode

How far do you get will it attempt to start and is it a quick turnover or not?

its turning over but not firing i did have a couple of burbles first thing this morning when i had a look now im not getting anything apart from it turning over :S

the engine isnt flooded have just checked done yet another fault code check and it is coming up with code 22 fuel pump but i have only just replaced the fuel pump which is confusing plus now when i turn her over (normal speed) a blower of some sorts keeps on coming on when she is switched off :S

it was my ptu again i got a nail file (mums gonna be a bit pissed off) and filed all the connectors which got the crap my wire bush wouldnt get to off and she started first time cheers for all your help guys much appreciated

well the running of the z was short lived the transmition light is flashing and the car is turning over again and thats it i dont know if it could be the o2 sensors? how do i go about checking them to see that is the problem?

You would be best getting it linked up to a conzult or datascan system to test the 02 sensors, i dont think this can be done through the self diagnostic but will check in a min and report back :)

 

Ps (there is a list of members who have them on here) just type conzult list in on the search.

cool cheers i will give that a go im almost tempted just to replace the o2 sensors for some new ones anyways so that i know in the future that if there is anything wrong with the transmition it wont be them wat do you think is that a good idea or not?

If your after peace of mind for the future more than nything then yes, but i'd get your 02 sensors checked out fiirst, pref on a conzult as you will see them in operation on a graph :)

 

they can be sourced through traders on here though but i'll be honest i dont see the point in replacing them yet if your set are in good working order

i dunno how i done it but i got rid of the transmition problem now my ecu is giving me like 5 different fault codes grrr the worst part about it is i think im gonna have to sell her once she is fixed as she is getting to expensive for me :( spesh as a tt might get a non turbo next lol

I'm not too sure about the ECU codes, But my N/A just stopped one day would turn over but no go. have you got a Mk1 or Mk2 PTU?? if Mk1 think they are bit notorious for going wrong. I cut mine open with a dremil like device and fixed a broken wire in side. All worked and she ran as good as new, well till I had the head gasket go!! dogh
