Im probably setting myself up for a flaming here, but has anyone ever ratted a Z

You know rust n matt black everywhere :D

 

I intend to get myself a Z in the very near future, i just thought that i could get a cosmetically challenged one (thats mechanically sound) and go nuts on it.

 

What do you guys think?

Yeah i have seen some go very cheap, they always seem to be the other side of the coutry when they come up though.

 

Ive obviously seen rust on them, im not that much of a newbie ;)

 

How about Matt Blacking the whole car then? No rust...

 

They rust, but in critical areas. Like sills....which NEED to be replaced Those are the sheds....the real heaps have rusty floor pans and chassis rails.

Let me check Ebay, if i see a nice tidy one, you can buy mine off me for the price of the tidy one and some petrol to get it home, then you can knock you self out with what ever it is you want to do to it.

That car is beautiful, Its an aquired taste, like granny porn. Ive seen that car before, but not from that angle, its a sileighty isnt it? hard to tell.

Only Z I've seen "Ratted" is a 240Z, that's still an ongoing project.

 

300ZX's don't lend themselves well to the rat idea anyway, too much plastic. Google for the Crazy Octopus if you want to see how it could be done.

I like the rat look, all rat cars normally have freakign gorgeous alloy wheels on them.

Modify within your budget, and if you like the rat look then go for it mate.

I imagine its quite hard to pull it off tho and have your car looking nice rather than your car looking like a rusty pile of sh!t.

Get soem pics up of your car, and your plans and modifications you plan for it?

More cars than any on the road are polished and shiny............so if anything the rat look isnt being a 'sheep syndrome'. Its oviously a personal choice but one i think can look good....

 

As for the zed, never seen one done but im sure if you do it correctly it will look nice. The one in the photo has actually been done really well if you look at it, made to look as much like a rat as possible with the colour looks and exhaust as a tail. Very nice.

Never understood or liked the rat look, i would maybe consider doing it to a old polo or golf that was knackered just for the destruction factor :D, but would never dream of doing to a Z or anything in even half decent condition to be fair only (imo) though
